I won't be so glad my friend, rosters ain't finished and Oly (which made some spectecular roster moves) is still very new team and it would take it some time to pull out it's best. So.. hold u'r horses <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Well, I meant that we have many chances to finish in the top of the group, not that will finish first, for sure. I'm sure coach Giannakis respects very much Maccabi Tel-Aviv (so do I), and to be honest, I think it's the only candidate able to grab the first position in the group from Olympiakos, no offense to Unicaja of course... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
And about Anthony Parker, just keep a small basket ( as we say here in Greece <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ). I don't think his situation is over for granted. But of course there are few possibilities from our side, right now...
About the "new team" issue, I have some objections. Thodoris Papaloukas and Nikola Vujcic ( I think ), they will not have a SINGLE problem to adjust and adapt Giannakis' coaching style and gaming plan. They are both MASTERS of the pick 'n roll ( Theo in creation and Nikola in finishing ), and Giannakis is using this type of offense many time in Greece ( with Theo and DD to Sofo ), so he will use it to Olympiakos too. These 2, will be vital part of the team, in the very first game, that's for sure. For the other 3-4 players ( Erceg, Halperin, Milosevic and the SF from the NBA ), I'm not sure yet, but they will need their time to prove their worth. But to be honest, I feel that the team will be 100% ready to face Maccabi in Tel-Aviv ( I think the first game between the two will take place in Tel-Aviv, in the 3rd week, right ? ).
Don't take me wrong, but I cannot see how Maccabi will replace Halperin, Vujcic, Morris and maybe Fizer, with equal or better players. There are no such players in the free market, and I don't really think that your chairman is allocating to "brake" some contracts. Can somebody provide me, the full roster of Maccabi Tel-Aviv, at this time ? I only know, that they braught back, Green...
