Condolences to Tiago Splitter

Quote:Euroleague Basketball offers its heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire European basketball family to Tau Ceramica player Tiago Splitter, whose younger sister Michelle passed away on Monday. The all-Euroleague center has been in his native Brazil since Saturday to be with his beloved sister at the end of her long battle with leukemia. Michelle Splitter, 18, was also an accomplished basketball player. Despite her disease, she returned to the court after a successful bone marrow transplant and was named last spring to the Brazilian women's national team, with whom she played several exhibition games shortly before taking ill again. "We are very sorry for Tiago and offer our support to him, his family and the Tau Ceramica basketball club at this sad time," Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu said.

I would also like to extend my personal condolences to Tiago Splitter. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />
