Lietuvos Rytas and FMP have made it to the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament grand final! L. Rytas became the undefeated Group A champion by simply overwhelming La Caja de Canarias Gran Canaria 110-63 in the first game on Saturday. Ovidijus Varanauskas led 7 L. Rytas in double digits with 17 points. Jonas Valanciunas and Giedrius Staniulis each added 14 while Osvaldas Matulionis had 12 for the winners. Meanwhile, FMP thrashed Montepaschi Siena 78-61 behind 23 points and 14 rebounds from an unstoppable Dejan Musli. Nenad Miljenovic added 11 points off the bench for FMP. Both teams reach the NIke IJT final undefeated in what will be an outstanding showdown in the o2 World on Sunday at 12:00 CET. Two signature basketball schools in European basketball are ready to battle for the prestigious title tomorrow. In other games, Union Olimpija edged Hemofarm Stada 60-65 in Group A, registering its first win in the 2009 Nike IJT. Mirza Sarajlija paced the winners with 13 points despite being held scoreless at the break. Meanwhile, Unicaja defeated Alba Berlin 62-74 in Group B with 16 points from Jose Pozas. Augusto Lima added 13 points and 12 rebounds.
