I have mixed feelings about Shved's fourth quarter performance. He made many big shots but his decision making was extremely poor. He wasn't passing the ball, he was either looking for isolation or simply pulling up and shooting with no good ball movement. On a team with Kirilenko this type of decision making is really stupid and Russia is extremely lucky to walk out of London with a medal.
The wonderful FIBA refs wanted us to see the Gold medal in officiating unfortunately. They ruined the second quarter and were a disaster throughout. To be fair, I didn't get the impression that they were favoring either the US or Spain, they simply wanted the game to be all about them. Horrible. All of these guys deserve to be banished from the sport.
I'm happy to see the US win, LeBron and Paul were great down the stretch. Kevin Love also had a pretty significant performance.
