I like the Kaukenas signing for Zalgiris. He can still compete at a high level and its nice to see him end his career in Lithuania.
I'd love to see Songaila end his career in Lithuania but rumor has it that he's trying to make his way back into the NBA. That seems optimistic but I know his wife and kid are still living in North Carolina so it makes sense that he'd like to be based in the US. Zalgiris and Rytas would both be a huge upgrade over Vallodolid in my opinion.
Also, Kobe said that he will consider playing in Europe for a year after his NBA career is over. He mentioned Italy, Spain and Turkey as options. In my opinion it would be a shame to see him on a non-Italian team (unless he wants to play for Rytas <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )

I totally agree with you on Kaukenas and Songaila. Kaukenas can still compete at a high level and I think he'll be a key player for Zalgiris next season. Songaila is playing well at the Olympics and I think that he would be a good signing for Zalgiris. But like you said, he could go to the NBA. He has said that he wants one more shot in the NBA.
I don't think Kobe will play in Turkey. If he goes to Italy he will probably play for Milano and in Spain his choice would be Barcelona. He has said that he could go and play in Europe a year after his contract with the Lakers ends but I don't think that Jerry Buss will let this happen. Kobe will probably retire from basketball as a Los Angeles Laker
