It's funny how we complain so much about our team. Our team is just dandy, so let's not get ahead of ourselves. Puerto Rico took a crack at us, and it didn't pan out for them. That's that, so let's move on. We played just fine, so less defense and more offense is what is needed. We need to change our style and adapt to various conditions and teams at all times. All the players in Caracas deserve to be there as far as I'm concerned. That's a rock solid team with plenty of young blood, and some veterans.
'Off topic though': Defense won't help us beat the Spanish and the Yanks. And let me tell you, I definitely want a crack at the Spanish. We need to overcome that mental hurdle called Spain. No Teo! BB is about D and O!! That's what makes the difference between a good team and a great team. It's pointless defending, when you can't make a shot from the arc, or make a FT, a jumper, or play a high energy transition game, and so forth. We need to change, or we can settle for a constant 4 or 5 ranking, and never smell a medal.
Now is the time. We need to grab that opportunity, experiment, let the young blood play their game, risk even at the expense of loss. If we qualify for the Olympics, we won't beat Spain or the USA playing defense. If any of you are happy with going to some fuNking tourney, just so as to make up the numbers, then live with the fact that a medal will be a distant dream. To be the best, you need to beat the best at their own game. It's that simple really. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
