Quote:GENEVA (TV) - FIBA, the International Basketball Federation today announced that it has reached agreement with Eurosport to broadcast the forthcoming 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship that will take place in Novi Sad, in Serbia from the 12th to the 22nd of July. An extensive number of games will be broadcast live on the Eurosport 2 channel including the semi-finals, Bronze medal and Final games.

Mr. Patrick Baumann, Secretary General of FIBA said "this is the first time that FIBA and Eurosport has worked together for many years and it is very good to see that our top junior World Championship will be extensively broadcast by Eurosport not only throughout Europe on Eurosport 2 but also on the Eurosport Asia/Pacific region. Hopefully this can be the start of a relationship between FIBA's international basketball competitions and Europe's principal pan-regional sports channel."

M. Laurent-Eric Le Lay, Chairman and CEO of Eurosport stated "By broadcasting the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship on Eurosport 2 as well as simulcasting the games on our websites, we are further developing our basketball offering to include national team as well as club basketball. The agreement with FIBA means that viewers in both the Europe and the Asia/Pacific regions will get to see the future world basketball stars."

Previous international stars that have played at the FIBA U19 World Championships include Vlade Divac (Serbia), Arvydas Sabonis (Lithuania), Vince Carter (USA), Toni Kukoc (Croatia), Wang Zhi Zhi (China), Andrei Kirilenko (Russia), Andrew Bogut (Australia) and Pau Gasol (Spain).
