Maybe they'll get Vujanic for free <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> I guess, PAO decided it's time to end up with Å aras by any cost. Maybe it has something to do with Å aras ego and free space for young players.

Vujanic is a better player than Saras at this time. It's just that simple. Saras can only play 10 minutes at his full ability and his defense is appauling. He's also now injury prone. So of course Vujanic is now better than him.
With that being said, Saras is still better than Calathes is. Calathes has never played well in a serious game in his life. He's like the ultimate practice squad player. And Tepic is just very overrated to be honest about it.
PAO does need another guard, whether it be Saras or Vujanic to help out. But Vujanic would clearly be a better choice for them at this point.

I agree with you that PAO definitely needs another guard since I don't believe in Kalathis and his possibilities. Ofcource, he is not a bad player but not the one a team as Panathinaikos should count on. In my opinion, Saras should remain in the team cause he will be really valuable even for 10 minutes on court. Besides, Obradovic has the philosophy that the time of participation should be shared among the players so even Saras was younger and not injury prone as you mentioned I don't think he would play more time during a game!

Besiktas could be close to sign Allen Iverson. The former NBA star, one-time MVP, would have reached an agreement on the economic terms with the Turkish club.

I agree with this. Calathes (Kalathis) just does not have it yet. He's way too young still. Maybe one day, but not now. In Greek A1 games against small clubs he plays well. In friendly games with Greece's national team against bad teams he plays great. He even plays decent against some of the mediocre national teams and some of the mid level Greek clubs.
But against good competition, be it in the Euroleague, the A1, or with Greece's national team, he has played like absolute crap every single time. Against good competition he has not even looked like a pro level player. He's one of those guys that just does not handle it when he has to play against other good players. Right now his level is that of a third string point guard in the Euroleague on a big club.
And for sure he should be nowhere near the national team. But it seems that he's the big new golden boy of this upcoming generation, both for PAO ownership and for the Greek Federation. But I believe that Obradovic will start to tire of him, as will whomever is the new coach of the national team will. So far he has not shown anything to prove that he belongs in a club like PAO.
But since he is still very young, especially for a point guard, hopefully he will develop and turn it around soon. But PAO needs another guard. Diamantidis, Tepic, Calathes is a weak point guard rotation IMHO. Calathes and Tepic will get eaten alive by the Olympiacos guards.
Saras for 10 minutes a game or Vujanic for 15 minutes a game would be a very smart move for PAO at this point. Personally, I would have liked to see PAO select someone like Batis or Karidas to help backup Diamantidis.

Do Iverson and his agent understand that the TBL is just a mediocre domestic league and that Besiktas only plays in the second level Eurocup and not in the Euroleague? Seems like a strange choice for Iverson. I don't ever recall a big name NBA player going straight to a team at that level. Of course, Besiktas does have plenty of money to spend.....

Jon Scheyer releaced from the final camp of the LAC and asked Maccabi to sign him.

I'm willing to bet Iverson doesn't reach November with Besiktas if he does sign eventually...the guy just can't accept that he's no longer a big superstar.
