Thats not true at all.

If its because Mr Balducci is in israel.so he only came to discuss the future of Gal Mekel.he has two offers from European clubs.

not talking about Saras at all.
Any idea if Saras has any offers from other teams? And do Maccabi have any interest in him?
#42
I don't know.i just know what is going on now.that Balducci and Saras are waiting till the Greek finals series are over and just then will discuss about next year(s).

that doesn't mean that at the end he won't sign for Maccabi.

I can understand why he would want to leave PAO and why he would want to go back to Maccabi. But can't he make more money at another club rather than Maccabi?
Money is not the issue. Saras likes to play when is heart belongs.

Maariv is not the only source.

Ynet claims the David Federman (one of MTA owners) allready meat with Saras yesterday.

So thats show you that its not true.

a team tie up a contract with the agent and not with a player.maybe he offered him to join next year, but a deal is not done at all

Do you think he's lacking money? He's going to the club he knows, he knows the staff and he knows the coach.
He signed the biggest contract ever of any player leaving Europe and going to the NBA. He signed the biggest contract ever (at the time) of any player leaving the NBA and coming back to Europe. Just look at Olympiacos and PAO both wanted him.

They offered him 3.5 million euros a year and then PAO offered 4.2 and he signed with them.

The last summer PAO wanted to cut his pay to 1.75 million a season and he would not agree to it. So he took 3.5 million over 2 years (which averages to 1.75 million), but he took a 1+1 contract that paid 2.2 million this year and then he could become a free agent after that.

Barcelona and Maccabi wanted him in the summer but did not offer as much as PAO so he stayed in PAO.

I think Saras cares a lot about how much he gets paid. No, I don't think he lacks money. But I don't really know. He is one of the athletes that lives the "star life". He definitely spends a lot. He's used to a lifestyle that demands a lot of money.

Now if Maccabi gives him something like Carlos Arroyo got, $1.75 million US dollars net then I could see him definitely signing there. But would Maccabi really give him that kind of money at age 34? I'm not sure.

But I would think some other club like CSKA, Barca, Khimki, Efes, Fener, etc. some club like that I am pretty sure would give him that salary.

I wonder how much he will be paid? It will be interesting to see what PAO does this summer. Saras leaving, Pekovic leaving, rumors that Batiste will leave, Spanoulis is offered a huge contract by Olympiacos...........could be almost a totally different team.

According to all the articles (and there's been many) around here on Saras, he'll get about 900k-1.1M euro

Saying that money isn't at all important to Å aras or to any other player isn't true. However, he still can play and be useful at EL level. His time one the court was limited due injuries this year but he wasn't too happy with his playing time and PAO last season either. Å aras had a rather good contract in NBA too but he publicly said that he isn't spending as much time on the court as he is being paid.

I believe that in such situations every player considers more than one factor when choosing where to play.

Anyway, back to other news. Drazen Anzulovic officially unveiled as the new head coach of Rytas. Roberts Stelmahers, former Rytas player, will be his assistant coach.

Rimas Kurtinaitis said that there are two teams from ACB interested in his services.

There is a rumour around baskrtball forums about Panathinaikos and european NBAers. Panathinaikos' techinical staff members say that's ridiculous. Ι think it's not false but also not real... What I mean?

Well, EVERY E V E R Y agent in Europe knows about Spanoulis leaving Panathinaikos and the possibility of going to Oly. Pao himself is givin those info to the sites n order to prepossess the reactions. That's the story. Pao lost already Pekovic-Minessota Saras-??? and most probably Spanoulis. Half of the quality PAO players leavin!! Not easy to deal with!!!!!!!
#55
MTA releaced Andrew Wizniweskey (official) and according to 2 webs, Saras will replace him (not official, yet).
#56
Why does Maccabi wants Saras anyway(i understand that they don't).....if they think that he is the Same player that left Maccabi 5 years ago...so they are wrong.

Saras is much Slower, his defence(wich wasnt great anyway)well he doesn't defend.

i guess that he will want big money...i can't understand that move,if it will be.

all the signs show that its going to be a wrong move for both sides.

I'm not a decision maker in MTA, but as I know Federman's way, he allways want big name to sell counteds.

Some media sources writes about Saras, it's not "my" information.

Panathinaikos could be close to land an important NBA star, still not revealed, for the next season. The Greek powerhouse, according to the Greek media, wants to repeat the experience of signing former NBA players like Dominique Wilkins or Byron Scott. One of the candidates could be Peja Stojakovic. The 32-year-old Serbian guard, now in the the New Orleans Hornets, played in Greece for PAOK Thessaloniki between 1994 and 1998, and could decide to terminate his contract with the Hornets to finish his career in Europe.

It's almost 100% that Spanoulis will sign with Olympiacos. I know a source close to the team and they said he was offered 3 years and 12 million euros by Olympiacos. He really wanted to go back to the NBA but Olympiacos made him an offer he could not pass on.

The truth is that Spanoulis is very angry with the Panathinaikos fans and that is why he wants to leave.

I don't think he's good enough for them anymore. He would be like the 2007 version of Alvertis.
