Oly played a good game tonight, all the Greek players were in exceptional form, every one of them scoring double digits. Mavrokefalidis is stepping up, but he needs to this against more formidable competition. He's on the right track. This was the first time I got a close-up view of Papanikolaou play in a Euroleague game, and what a performance for a young lad, he looked like he was a Euroleague player for years, great passing, shooting from the arc and an exemplary finish with a two-hand dunk from a fast break, this young buck has everything going for him, and he's the new blood for the Hellas NT.
My question is, why did it take a Serbian coach to believe in a young talent, and keep him in the game even when he was on four fouls? Pap is just one example of sooooooooooooooo much talent we have itching to play in the premier league, but at the end of the day those who get through to play have connections and/or (especially this) financial support. It's pathetic that STILL you can't get through to the Greek A1 premiership if you are a good player.
*Sigh* We are a third world first world country <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

not a very good game by Maccabi in Kaunas but Maccabi was there in the money time, David Blatt was there in the money time. Sofo once again killed Zalgiris, it seems like for this bull, green is the new red. Doron Perkins once again was great, this time also had a good scoring night, some great penetrations. offensivly, Maccabi missed way too many easy&open shots that usually go in, but still won this game, so far it's a great team and most importantly it's a team, not a bunch of individuals.
