Spanish basketball has seen an increase in the number of licenses and new teams after the national team won the world championship in Japan, according to a report by the FEB General Secretary Elvira Andr?s, carried out for the last General Assembly. The difference can be noted from the 320,495 licenses solicited in the 2005-06 season to the 340,855 of the 2006-07 season. Regarding teams, a difference was seen in the 24,879 federation teams in the 2005-06 season, to the 27,721 of the recently finished 2006-07 season. FEB General Secretary Elvira Andr?s works in a department with a large volume of work, and is proud of the number of events of the 2006-07 season, which will finish off with the big EuroBasket 2007 tournament. The success of the national team has influenced the number of licenses.
