Watching the game of PAO against Prokom, I can't really comment the fact that, for some strange reason, Olympiakos is the only team, getting beaten from PAO, from 3point shooting. Ok, let's say, Oly played bad defense in the Greek A1 derby. But, did really Prokom played yesterday better defense that Oly did the last Sunday ? Of course, the two games are different in many ways, but I really want to mention that. Giannakis was demolished from himself, his choices and because he's being stuck ALWAYS against Obradovic. Olympiakos can and MUST change many elements of his game.

About the game Partizan - CSKA Moscow, I think Partizan fans should be proud, not only of their great team (with many local players), but because they're creating this F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C basketball atmosphere (at least in Euroleague games), every time their team is playing a game, no matter if they're playing against CSKA, Oly, and Pao or against Le Mans, AJ Milano (no offense to those teams of course) etc.

CSKA Moscow, will win this Euroleague, that's for sure. Playing like that (below average), and winning into the hardest (imo) arena of Europe, is something. This team was created as a winner...

As for today, I expect a hard victory for Oly in France, something between 3 and 8 points, win...

Pini will have a heck of a work to do with Maccabi, getting beaten at home is not a good sign at all (even if Unicaja does not fluctuate as they used to).

Sonseca gets an extremely rare double-double, grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring... 24 points... in 24 minutes <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' /> The game of his life.

Why did Begi? play just 5 minutes? Injury?

Cibona 82 - Air Avellino 79

Quote:Nikola Prkacin scored 4of his 8 points in the final minute of overtime to give Cibona a hard-fought 82-79 victory at home over Air Avellino. Cibona blew a 10-point lead in the last five minutes of regulation, but won the game in the extra session. Avellino’s Tamar Slay made 2 foul shots with 30 seconds left to force overtime, but Travis Best could not nail a late triple which could have sent the game to another overtime. Davor Kus scored 23 points for Cibona, which improved to 4-1 atop Group A. Prkacin added 5 rebounds and 4 assists while Earl Calloway poured in 14 points. Vedran Vukusic scored 6 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a winning effort. Cibona next faces Maccabi Electra in Tel Aviv. Avellino dropped to 2-3 in the group despite 20 points from former Cibona star Chris Warren. Best added 11 points while Eric Williams chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/sho...ort?gamecode=49

QUOTES:"It was an extremely difficult game to play and also to watch. We missed a lot of shots that we usually make at home in the first half, so we could not manage to build a lead. We had enough concentration to play good defense, though. At the end, we had couple of chances to end this game earlier than it eventually took us. This is an important win. It was the first Euroleague game we had to win. Avellino is a tough team and they are capable of winning three more games, which means we need to win two more to be sure to go to Top 16. It is a difficult group, and you have to be at your best in every game if you want a chance to win." - Velimir Perasovic, Cibona Head Coach

"Cibona is a strong team, it was a hard-fought battle and they made enough plays to win the game. People now know we are a serious Euroleague team. I heard in a paper here in Zagreb that they were not giving us much of a chance, but we let everyone know we can play. We had three guys with some physical problems. We know we are a Top 16 contender, but is up to other people to realize that." - Travis Best, Air Avellino

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Davor Kus, Cibona (23 points in 32 minutes)

-Earl Calloway, Cibona (14 points in 31 minutes)

-Chris Warren, Avellino (20 points, 4 rebounds in 33 minutes)

-Eric Williams, Avellino (12 points, 6 rebounds in 20 minutes)

-Travis Best, Avellino (11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists in 30 minutes)

Maccabi "Electra" Tel-Aviv 73 - Unicaja 80

Quote:Unicaja spoiled Pini Gershon's return to the sidelines with a 73-80 road win over Maccabi Electra at Tel Aviv's Nokia Arena on Thursday night. Thomas Kelati scored 23 and Boniface NDong had some big baskets in the fourth quarter as Unicaja picked up its first road win of the season and improved to 3-2 in Group A. Meanwhile Maccabi lost at home for the first time and dropped to 2-3 with an important game against group leader Cibona looming next week. It was a first half of runs, which saw Unicaja build a 16-point lead before Maccabi reeled off 14 unanswered points to make it 40-44 at halftime. Omri Casspi came off the bench to give Maccabi the lead late in the third period, however NDong restored Unicaja’s 8 point lead early in the fourth and the hosts came up short in their comeback attempts. Carlos Jimenez added 15 points, 7 rebounds and some key defensive plays for the visitors, NDong finished with 11 points and Omar Cook scored 10 and dished 7 assists. Carlos Arroyo scored 14 and had 5 assists for Maccabi, which was doomed by its 17 turnovers. Marcus Brown added 13, Tal Burstein 12 and Lior Eliyahu had 11 in defeat.

QUOTES:"Unicaja played great. They had to play also against our fans and handled it very well. We were in a little bit of a mess. We need to calm down and start all over again. Maybe the mess we had this week was too much. It's never ideal to replace a coach during the season, but it's history now and we'll have to handle it." - Lior Eliyahu, Maccabi

"We came here with a short bench and it wasn't easy to get the win, but we played well and got a great triumph. We shot very well in the first half, while in the second we played very aggressive defense to get this win. Maccabi was a little less organized than expected, and maybe it's because of the new coach, but I'm sure they'll get better." - Jiri Welsch, Unicaja

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Thomas Kelati, Unicaja (23 points in 34 minutes)

-Carlos Jimenez, Unicaja (15 points, 7 rebounds in 34 minutes)

-Boniface N'Dong, Unicaja (11 points in 22 minutes)

-Omar Cook, Unicaja (10 points, 7 assists in 29 minutes)

-Carlos Arroyo, Maccabi (14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists in 36 minutes)

-Marcus Brown, Maccabi (13 points, 4 assists in 28 minutes)

-Tal Burstein, Maccabi (12 points, 6 rebounds in 27 minutes)

-Lior Eliyahu, Maccabi (11 points, 4 rebounds in 28 minutes)

Le Mans 93 - Olympiacos 98 (OT)

Quote:Olympiacos held onto its share of first place by a thread after rallying in overtime to defeat host Le Mans 93-98 in France on Thursday. Olympiacos improved to 4-1 to remain tied for the top spot in Group A with Cibona, while Le Mans is still winless, occupying the last spot in the group. Lynn Greer saved the day for the Reds, as he drew a foul and made both free throws to even the score at 87-87 with 3.9 seconds to go, before Le Mans ran out of gas in the 6-11 overtime. Greer shot a perfect 5 of 5 from beyond the arc to lead everyone in scoring with 25 points, while also stealing the ball 4 times. Yotam Halperin helped Greer with 15 points, big man Ioannis Bourousis dominated inside with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Zoran Erceg chipped in with 10 points in 16 minutes. After Olympiacos overtook the lead in the fourth quarter, Brian Chase’s heroics kept the hosts alive, as his triple with 10,5 seconds to go put Le Mans up 87-85, before Greer evened it up on the other end. Dewarick Spencer led Le Mans with 4 three-pointers and 19 points, David Bluthenthal posted 18, while Joao Paulo Batista and Chased scored 16 points apiece. Alain Koffi registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts.

QUOTES:"We played an excellent game until the final minutes. One or two fewer mental errors and we would have our first Euroleague win. We are all very frustrated with the way things are going, but I still think this team has great potential for this season. Ideally, we will find a way to win these games and finish the return games with our heads held high."- John-David Jackson, Le Mans Head Coach

"It was a very nice game, very exciting. Le Mans shot very good from the three-point line during the first half. We wanted to control the game but they had easy layups and easy three-pointers at the begining. We made some mistakes at the end of the first half and Le Mans made the difference. In the second half, we pressed. We had more concentration and discipline. It was a very good Euroleague game and I have a lot of respect for Le Mans. It's a good win for us." - Panagiotis Giannakis, Olympiacos Head Coach

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Lynn Greer, Olympiacos (26 points, 5/5 3pfg, 4 steals in 35 minutes)

-Yotam Halperin, Olympiacos (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists in 32 minutes)

-Ioannis Bourousis, Olympiacos (13 points, 11 rebounds in 26 minutes)

-Zoran Erceg, Olympiacos (10 points in 16 minutes)

-Dewarick Spencer, Le Mans (19 points in 37 minutes)

-David Bluthental, Le Mans (18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists in 43 minutes)

-Joao Paulo Baptista, Le Mans (16 points in 28 minutes)

-Brian Chase, Le Mans (16 points, 3 steals in 35 minutes)

-Alain Koffi, Le Mans (10 points, 10 rebounds in 30 minutes)

Montepaschi Siena 86 - SLUC Nancy 63

Quote:Montepaschi Siena bounced back from its first loss of the season by thrashing SLUC Nancy 86-63 at home on Wednesday night. Montepaschi improved to 4-1 in Group B and remains tied for first place. Meanwhile, Nancy dropped to 1-4. Terrell McIntyre led the winners with 16 points. Romain Sato added 13, Ksistof Lavrinovic posted a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds in less than 20 minutes while Henry Domercant scored 11 points for Montepaschi. Cyril Julian led Nancy with 21 points on 9-for-11 shooting while Michel Morandais added 10 for the guests. Nancy did not manage to even get a shot off in the opening three minutes, committing 4 turnovers in as many possessions. Montepaschi relied on Shaun Stonerook and McIntyre to get a safe lead, 25-17, at the end of the first quarter. Julian kept pacing Nancy, but did not find much help around. Meanwhile, Domercant, Kaukenas and a final three-pointer by Morris Finley broke the game open, 45-26, at halftime. Julian and Lamayne Wilson tried to change things in the second half, but Montepaschi kept using its trademark offense, always looking for the extra pass to get an easier shot, and cruised to a big home win.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/sho...ort?gamecode=52

QUOTES: "You have to win at home, and that is the most important thing. Even if we don't play the way we want to play, we have to keep winning anyway. We have to play good defense and even if the arena is a bit cold, that is no excuse. We missed some easy shots, but our defense was there. As long as we play good defense, we can afford to make some mistakes in offense. We don't have a one-man or a two-man team. This is a 10-man team in which anybody can score. We have a lot of trust in this team and we all can make shots." - Terrell McIntyre, Montepaschi

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Terrell McIntyre, Montepaschi (16 points, 3 steals in 27 minutes)

-Romain Sato, Montepaschi (13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals in 26 minutes)

-Ksistof Lavrinovic, Montepaschi (12 points, 13 rebounds in 20 minutes)

-Henry Domercant, Montepaschi (11 points, 4 assists, 3 steals in 29 minutes)

-Cyril Julian, Nancy (21 points, 9/11 2pfg, 7 rebounds, 3 steals in 23 minutes)

-Michel Morandais, Nancy (10 points, 6 rebounds in 25 minutes)

Asseco Prokom 60 - Panathinaikos 67

Quote:Dimitris Diamantidis scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to lead Panathinaikos to a 60-67 road win over pesky Asseco Prokom Sopot on Wednesday in Poland. The Greens improved to 4-1 in Group B before visiting Zalgiris next week, Prokom, which saw its five-game home-court winning streak snapped, fell to 2-3. The Greek champs finished the first half on a 2-11 tear to take a 24-36 halftime lead and seemed in control throughout the third period. But Prokom stormed back as Ronnie Burrell scored half the points in an 8-0 start to the fourth quarter and Aleksej Nesovic soon hit a triple to tie the game at 50-50. But Diamantidis got some help from Vassilis Spanoulis to score the key baskets down the stretch to sink Prokom. Diamantidis finished with 15 points and 4 steals, while Nikola Pekovic added 15 points and Spanoulis 12 for the winners. David Logan paced Prokom with 16 points and Pat Burke added 11 against his former team.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/sho...ort?gamecode=53

QUOTES:"We tried hard, but we lost because of the rebounds and the turnovers. Panathinaikos grabbed 17 offensive boards and scored 25 points from second chances. Details always count in basketball and this is a lesson we got tonight and we have to pay attention. Panathinaikos is a very good team and we tried to play against them the best possible way. We gave a battle, but unfortunately we lost the game." - Tomas Pacesas, Prokom Head Coach

"It was the game that we were expecting to have. We came to play here three days after the match versus Olympiacos and I am satisfied because all my players had big motivation and concentration. We played good defense, especially Spanoulis and Hatzivrettas did great jobs at the beginning of the game against the guards of our opponent. We also managed to control the boards and get second chance points. I am not satisfied with our offense, because we missed open shots and made some turnovers at the end of the third and at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Every team that plays against Panathinaikos has a special motivation, so there is no place where we can have an easy match ." - Zeljko Obradovic, Panathinaikos Head Coach

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Nikola Pekovic, Panathinaikos (15 points in 22 minutes)

-Dimitris Diamantidis, Panathinaikos (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals in 31 minutes)

-Vassilis Spanoulis, Panathinaikos (12 points, 5 rebounds in 30 minutes)

-David Logan, Prokom (16 points in 40 minutes)

-Patrick Burke, Prokom (11 points, 4 rebounds in 22 minutes)

Zalgiris 60 - Regal FC Barcelona 75

Quote:Regal FC Barcelona retained its share of first place in Group B by rolling to a 60-75 road victory over winless Zalgiris in Kaunas, Lithuania on Thursday. The win boosted Barcelona's record to 4-1, keeping it tied with Montepaschi Siena and Panathinaikos Athens at the halfway mark in the regular season. The night belonged to Barcelona star Jaka Lakovic, who not only led the winners with 22 points on 5-for-5 three-point shooting, but joined an exclusive club, too. Lakovic's final triple, late in the third quarter, made him just the fourth Euroleague player to surpass 2,000 points this decade. Juan Carlos Navarro followed with 14 points for Barcelona. Big man Daniel Santiago posted a double-doube of 11 points and 11 rebounds, followed closely by David Andersen's 11 and 7, respectively. Loren Woods led Zalgiris with a near-perfect performance: 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks while shooting 8 for 8 from the foul line. Paulius Jankunas followed him with 17 points, while Jonas Maciulis added 12. A lack of depth hurt Zagliris, however, as the rest of the team added only 13 points.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/sho...ort?gamecode=54

QUOTES: "We wanted to win but we have to admit that our opponents are stronger. We lacked some centimeters. When they used rotations with Santiago, Anderson and Ilyasova in the frontcourt, we couldn't handle them. Paulius Jankunas works hard on the boards but he is not tall enough to match up with their big guys. It?s good that our field goal percentage is getting better, but we still can?t hit threes. We didn't distribute the ball well, but it's hard to play against such superb players like Lakovic and Navarro. We used zone defense effectively during the first half, but in the second half we had some bad minutes and let them build the lead." - Gintaras Krapikas, Zalgiris Head Coach

"I want to thank Zalgiris fans, who created a fantastic atmosphere. We played better and we earned the victory." - Xavier Pascual, Barcelona Head Coach

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Jaka Lakovic, Barcelona (22 points, 5/5 3pfg in 27 minutes)

-Juan Carlos Navarro, Barcelona (14 points, 5 assists in 27 minutes)

-David Andersen, Barcelona (11 points, 7 rebounds in 28 minutes)

-Daniel Santiago, Barcelona (11 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks in 23 minutes)

-Loren Woods, Zalgiris (18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks in 28 minutes)

-Paulius Jankunas, Zalgiris (17 points, 6 rebounds in 34 minutes)

-Jonas Maciulis, Zalgiris (12 points, 7 rebounds in 27 minutes)

DKV Joventut 105 - Tau Ceramica 100

Quote:DKV Joventut rejoined the Top 16 race in Group C by downing Tau Ceramica 105-100 in Badalona, Spain on Thursday night. Joventut had its best game so far this season to improve to 2-3 in the standings. Meanwhile, Tau Ceramica went down to 3-2 and ties for second place in Group C. Edu Hernandez-Sonseca paced the winners with 24 points on 12-for-12 free throws and 10 rebounds. Demond Mallet added 17 points, Pau Ribas had 12 while Henk Norel got 10 for Joventut. Tiago Splitter led Tau with 23 points. Igor Rakocevic and Mirza Teletovic each added 18 while Pablo Prigioni and Sergi Vidal had 11 apiece for the guests. Splitter and Fernando San Emeterio took over in the first quarter to make Tau get a 15-26 margin after 10 minutes. Joventut found its go-to guy in Mallet and Ferran Laviña, who fueled a 14-0 run that helped the hosts to get a 51-43 halftime margin. Hernandez-Sonseca and an outstanding Norel shined late in the third quarter, allowing Joventut to boost its margin to 84-69 after 30 minutes. An outstanding Teletovic singlehandedly brought Tau within 100-97 with 2 minutes to go but Joventut stayed focused and sealed the outcome from the foul line.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/sho...ort?gamecode=55

QUOTES: "I am happy because it was a win that we really needed and which allows us to stay close to the Top 16 at this point. We were able to score against a great team like Tau Ceramica. We improved our stability as a team and group. I congratulate my players, especially Pere Tomas and Henk Norel, for the important work they did. We fought to win and the only negative note is Demond Mallet's injury, I hope it is nothing serious. Today the crowd was not much into the game at the beginning, just like us, but later they pushed us towards the win and they had an important role in this triumph. We needed a victory like this." - Sito Alonso, Joventut Head Coach

"DKV Joventut beat us tonight because we played their game, it was like a spider web from which we didn't know how to escape. We got into their fast game and they deserved to win the game. We did not play as intense as the game we won here against them last Thursday in the Spanish League. We didn't defend, I am not happy with our defense tonight. We thought we had won this game before it even started and they went for it, so they deserve this win." - Dusko Ivanovic, Tau

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Edu Sonseca-Hernandez, Joventut (24 points, 10 rebounds in 24 minutes)

-Demond Mallet, Joventut (17 points, 7/7 fg, 4 assists in 20 minutes)

-Mirza Teletovic, Tau (18 points in 25 minutes)

-Sergi Vidal, Tau (11 points in 37 minutes)

-Pablo Prigioni, Tau (11 points, 8 assists in 33 minutes)

-Fernando San Emeterio, Tau (10 points, 5 rebounds in 16 minutes)

Union Olimpija 77 - Alba Berlin 69

Quote:Miha Zupan scored 19 points as Union Olimpija notched its first victory of the Euroleague, beating Alba Berlin convincingly at home 77-69 in Group C. Union improved to 1-4 in the group while Berlin dropped to 2-3. Mirza Sarajlija added 13 points for Olimpija while Vladimir Golubovic added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. The Slovenian side used a torrid 10-of-18 on three-pointers in the first half to grab the lead and always had an answer for every Berlin attempt to come back. Rashad Wright tallied 19 points in a losing effort while Ansu Sesay had 15 points for Berlin, which was missing injured guard Julius Jenkins. Berlin’s next game will be at Lottomatica Roma while Olimpija hosts DKV Joventut.

"Union Olimpija won deservedly because it has been the better team during 40 minutes. We didn't play at the level necessary to have a chance to win on the road." - Ansu Sesay, Alba

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Miha Zupan, Olimpija (19 points in 29 minutes)

-Mirza Sarajlija, Olimpija (13 points in 19 minutes)

-Rashad Wright, Alba (19 points, 6 rebounds in 25 minutes)

-Ansu Sesay, Alba (15 points in 26 minutes)

Lottomatica Roma 76 - Fenerbache Ulker 67

Quote:For the first time in its recent Euroleague history, Lottomatica Roma holds a regular season group's first place exclusively after it downed visiting Fenerbahce Ulker 76-67 on Thursday in a physical battle dominated by big men. The victory left Roma with a 4-1 record in Group C midway through the regular season, a victory ahead of both Fenerbahce and Tau Ceramica. The difference was just 70-67 headed into the final 2 minutes, but Andre Hutson and Sani Becirovic, along with Roma's defense, settled the matter convincingly then. Hutson finished with a career-high 26 points that included 11-for-11 foul shooting as he sustained medium-sized leads for Roma much of the game. Rodrigo De la Fuente contributed a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Becirovic had 11 points and 7 assists for the winners. Fenerbahce got a huge performance from Mirsad Turkcan, whose 46th career double-double was 21 points and 14 rebounds, including 4 three-pointers. QUOTES: "We played a bad game, but in the end we won. I wasn't expecting at this point that we would be in first place alone with four victories and one defeat. What I liked today was how we defended, everyone together, with great team spirit, but in attack we need to do better." - Jasmin Repesa, Roma Head Coach

"Neither team played good basketball. I am sorry for this defeat. We got close to Rome, but we have not been able to finish the job. " - Bogdan Tanjevic, Fenerbahce Head Coach

Efes Pilsen 81 - Real Madrid 95

Quote:Real Madrid improved to 3-2 and took a step closer to its initial goal of reaching the Top 16 from Group D by downing Efes Pilsen 81-95 on the road in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday night. Efes dropped its third straight game as it fell to 2-3 in the group. Quinton Hosley led the winners with a season-high 24 points on 6-for-7 two-point and 3-for-4 three-point shooting. Jeremiah Massey added 17, Sergio Llull and Louis Bullock each had 11 while Alex Mumbru and Felipe Reyes got 10 apiece for Madrid. Charles Smith led Efes with 22 points against his former team. Milos Vujanic added 18, Bootsy Thornton had 14 and Kaya Peker 10. Hosley had 10 points in the first quarter and got some help from Massey to help Madrid take a 15-21 edge after 10 minutes. Three-pointers by Vujanic and Michalis Kakiouzis brought Efes as close as 38-39, but Hosley and Reyes stepped up to keep Madrid ahead, 40-46, at halftime. QUOTES: "Tonight we were really very bad on defense. We were also very weak once again on rebounds. We gave the opponent very critical second chance points due to those weaknesses. We also struggled in offense. Charles Smith got tired and we were not able to put anyone else beside him to score in the critical minutes. On the other hand, Quinton Hosley plays with an average of 7 points per game, but he scored 24 points tonight to break our balance. We lost two important home games. What we need to do is to make away wins to compensate for those loses at home." - Ergin Ataman, Efes Head Coach

"It's a great result for us to win against a great team like Efes Pilsen. My team challenged very well tonight especially in defense. We balanced the defense and offense skillfully. We were patient enough in offense and gained what we needed. Actually we didn't dream about that big difference at the end of the game. It doesn't change that Efes Pilsen still a very dangerous team, which can beat any team anytime. I'm sure they will qualify to the next stage anyway. Maybe we can compete once again in the next round."- Joan Plaza, Real Madrid Head Coach

Partizan Belgrade 62 - CSKA Moscow 63

Quote:Making it halfway through the regular season undefeated proved a matter of good fortune for CSKA Moscow on Wednesday as it survived five game-winning shot attempts by host Partizan on the game's final possession before escaping Belgrade with a 62-63 win in Group D. The victory pushed CSKA to 5-0, at least two wins better than any other team in the group, while Partizan fell to 2-3 and a tie for either third or fourth place depending on Thursday results. The hosts came oh-so-close to a huge upset, however, taking several tries close to the basket in the final 35 seconds before the buzzer sounded without any of them falling. Erazem Lorbek's single free throw earlier in the final minute, his team's only point in almost 4 minutes of futile shots at a Partizan zone, proved the game-winner for CSKA. The Euroleague champs had another ensemble effort with Lorbek and Zoran Planinic posting 11 points each, while Nikos Zisis and Ramunas Siskauskas had 10 each. A highlight was the return of team captain Matjaz Smodis for his first Euroleague game of the season. Smodis finished with 9 points, including the put-back that was CSKA's last basket. Partizan got all kinds of contributions, too, with Milenko Tepic scoring 14 points and Novica Velickovic 10, while teenager Jan Veseley pulled 9 rebounds and Uros Tripkovic buried key shots to rally the hosts.

QUOTES: "It would have been so nice if we had won. But CSKA deserved that win. Anyway, I am proud of my guys. Tonight this was serious and highest-quality basketball. We played equal with the Euroleague champs. One ball decided the winner, but it shows we are on the right way with that young team." - Dusko Vujosevic, Partizan Head Coach

"First of all, I told my players it is not so easy to win here in Belgrade. Partizan plays excellent this season and we were so bad in rebounding. But all my players played great defense and managed to win in front of real incredible supporters. It is also incredible that Partizan had three shots for a win in last three seconds. And at the end it is incredible that I have to say this: congratulations to my players. Sometimes I have to say this. I wish Partizan to see the Top 16. Many people are surprised how that young team plays, but I am not." - Ettore Messina, CSKA Head Coach

NOTABLE PLAYERS:

-Zoran Planinic, CSKA (11 points in 33 minutes)

-Erazem Lorbek, CSKA (11 points, 5 rebounds in 19 minutes)

-Ramunas Siskauskas, CSKA (10 points, 4 rebounds in 32 minutes)

-Nikos Zisis, CSKA (10 points, 4 rebounds in 26 minutes)

-Milenko Tepic, Partizan (14 points in 33 minutes)

-Novica Velickovic, Partizan (10 points, 7 rebounds in 21 minutes)

QUOTES: "It was a very important game because of the standings, and this victory allows us the chance to still believe in the Top 16. We did a very good job during practice, we had some good runs on offense, and we managed well the last minute. We are searching for the right rotation between our point guards, and a good balace between Sangaré, Bulleri and Vitali. We didn't have a lot of crowd tonight, but we had a great feeling in the arena." - Piero Bucchi, Milano Head Coach

"Milano was more lucky than us in the final minutes. Some details decided this game, and we were not able to catch the win in the final seconds. Raicevic sat out in the last quarter because of his early four fouls and also because it was a technical choice. It was my responsibility." - Aleksandar Trifunovic, Panionios Head Coach
