Isn't Maccabi losing too many Israeli players? There must be some limit of foreigners per team in Israel, right?

About Eliyahu: Maccabi knows a long time that he won't stay. It just goes out now to the media.
Casspi depends in the Draft. 2nd round will keep him in Maccabi (he has a contract).
Any case, Guy Pnini will play in Maccabi and if Casspi will make a history and play in the NBA, Shason or Bluthental will come.

Luetuvos Rytas signed Dejan Borovnjak from Vojvodina Novi Sad.
All of Zalgiris players are free agents now. So it's up to them whether to stay or to leave. Jonas Maciulis said that he would like to play in CSKA Moscow, Barcelona, Panathinaikos or Real Madrid. I remember that Barca and Real showed some interest in him. But PAO and CSKA?

I think CSKA and Panathinaikos suit Maciulis more. In CSKA he could be tutored by Siska and Russia is easier place to adapt for a Lithuanian due to culture and everything.
In Panathinaikos he can even be a starter in some months in the SF position, plus he can dramatically improve under Obradovic. Plus Panathinaikos has Saras and is lately building a nice tradition of Lithuanian players.
Respect and thanks for everything:
Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

That could be the case if he was 40 or 50 years old or if he was playing 20 years ago <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Yet another player for Rytas who is not well known. We can only guess how he will perform but if we look back at the players that Rytas signed in the past then Baynes might be quite a good signing.
Marijonas Petravicius is on his way out of Rytas. The question is which club will be his next destination. No rumours so far.
Rytas should announce the signing of a point guard next week. They're quick as always.

According to Krepsinis.net J.R. Holden could leave CSKA Moscow as the club will try to cut their expenses. It would make more sense if he didn't have Russian citizenship.

I concur. It doesn't make sense since he is Russian now and CSKA needs at least 2 Russians on the court at all times in the domestic league games, plus PGs like JR Holden are really hard to come by in Europe and especially in Russia.

Maybe I misunderstood something but that was my point exactly. I meant that CSKA doesn't have many quality Russian players plus there is a rule that you mentioned. So I would expect them to sacrifice a foreigner instead.

Pops will be Maccabi player, unless he'll get a guaranteed contract in the NBA untill 15th of June. (he can't sign untill mid-July).
He agrees terms with the yellows for 2+1.

Milenko Tepic signed a 3 years contract with Panathinaikos. He will get about 2.5m euros for 3 years and Partizan will get 500k a compensation. Tepic said he rejected better offers from Russia because he wanted to play for Panathinaikos.

Any information about salary and contract length of Calathes? I read somewhere that he'll be getting 2mil dollars per season, but that strikes me as pretty unrealistic.

Inside info unfortunatelly. They were considering him (and velickovic of course) couple of weeks ago. The question is how many players are partizan willing to wave this summer and if they decide to use some of the buyout money they're getting to keep someone with the team.
