Preparation Games
#41
This has gone a little over the edge. Please don't take the argument on a National level, this is a sport fight, not a war...

Zeus, u really sound u have some personal meters with the Serbians, and generalize all of us according to some situations. Am I bad too? Damn...

@Black Urum: Please, man, change your avatar. No meter whos fault it was, we should all be ashamed at what happened back there. It is an ugly picture that I don't want to see everytime I come to this forum. U don't have to remaind us what happened... Please, man, take it off <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

^ Sorry mate, but your countryman's egocentrism is just through the roof. Instead of being apologetic about causing this awful event, many Serbs want to shift the blame on us. On top of starting the fight, then they want to cite the right to defend themselves from someone like Sofo, and that would even excuse throwing a metallic chair. Why not carry weapons to games as well?

Then it was pointed out by posts of my own and others that Serbians are quite the troublemakers when it comes to basketball. And about the nationalist view Led00 about Serbians, I had that pointed out to me by Serbians themselves when I used to live in the UK. Sure, sometimes it made them come off sounding pompous and full of themselves, but apart from that there would never be any problems, we'd get on like a house on fire.

Can't u c ur statement?

"MANY SERBS WANT TO SHIFT BLAME ON US"

Show me those many Serbs? R those the ones u encounter on the internet? Or did u came to Serbia and went from person to person asking who is bad guy? And, dude, who is that "You" as in "blame on us"? R those Greeks? Only an idiot would blame entire Greek population because of a stupid preparation game that went wrong because the tension was so big... not to mention that only an idiot would do the opposite thing, blaming whole Serbia for the same thing...

Please, explain yourself and why do u take everything on a national level??? YOU AND WE, SERBS AND WE??? That was 3 on 3 fight and no other Serbs or Greeks were involved, so maybe u wanna think again?

I'll spell it out for you : Would you stand in front of Sofo and pick a fight against him?

Krstic did what he did, we all react in a different way in that kind of situations. You just dont think and act in seconds.
Yes and you don't think about throwing a chair in seconds either, keep some weapons on your person just in case someone like Sofo comes after you. That's the kind of thinking that gets you arrested, as so happened in Krstic's case.
Burusis was not a member of 12-men Greek National team who was playing that night against Serbia. He could be Mother Thereza for that matter, he was just a spectator. And 'protocol' and 'rules' and 'regulations' suggests heavy penalties for home teams in case of spectators intruding and taking on visiting teams.
You're making this up. What planet are you on? All teams do this in the follow-up to any big tournament.
same like when Krstic saw what was Sofo doing to Bjelica, dont you think?
Again, you're excusing his (Krstic) extreme use of violence which is against proper atheletic conduct. Hence Krstic being an anti-athlete.
In all those successes from 1995-2002 we had only one, maybe 2 players from Montenegro. But that is not issue right now since my point was proven.
My point was that in the past you had the choice from Montenegro, Slovenia, Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia, to make up a Yugoslavia super-team. This is not the case any more however.
What tactics?
YOUR tactic of trying to avoid what I was pointing out to you previously, not any of your teams.
One of the most famous and most legendary bball coaches and people recognized and acknowledged all over the world is responsible for every single success of our national teams.
OK? But he doesn't walk into the court to make it happen. Players do. What was an issue of discontent during Stankovic's reign was favoritism from the refs in many a game. You're just too biased to accept it.
It's a pitty that Vasilokopouls whatever isn't as half as good enough, not even to create some order in PAO-Oly relations.
Vasillakopoulos isn't the president of the Greek basketball federation any more.
Noooooooo, that kind of things dont happen millions of times, no man.

You should look a video again and see the intensity of Fotsis acting. He was looking just what Teo gave him. I cant see him thinking that anyone will just mute and let him literaly spit him in his face trying to explain him something.
Excuse me? Teodosic threw the punch first and then got spat upon, it's clear as day on the video.
Punch? Ok.
Can you not read what I wrote? I said NOT punch, put some reading glasses on.
So, Teo, being foreign employee and plus a Serb has to be gratefull by letting him being spit in the face and letting, I have to say, morrons like Fotsis bully him? Is that your view of being gratefull?
Teodosic doesn't have a leg to stand on since he threw the first punch, and rightly deserved to get spat upon.
No, no, dont talk about politics. I'm a student of politics and foreign affairs and you dont want to go in there, belive me. Just to say, 'quadrilions' of money Serbian tourists left in past 30 years in Greece are nearly a quarter of your 'help' and 'support' taking the same period of time.
Like I care what you're a student of? I've never heard of anything so laughable <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

Why don't you show me what you're capable of Mr. student of politics and foreign affairs? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

"Just to say, 'quadrilions' of money Serbian tourists left in past 30 years in Greece are nearly a quarter of your 'help' and 'support' taking the same period of time."

^ That, is based upon what evidence? You're fabricating things in a weak attempt to make straw-man argument <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />
I just cant belive that you are so anti-Serbian. Its just strange, cause we didnt do anything to you. We take that silly "brotherhood" much more serious that you, well, not me, but majority of people and still, it's like you're only waiting for some Serb to screw something up to moralize and act horrified by that.
I can't believe your team never directly apologized for their appalling acts. It would have been pretty simple, trying to excuse your team when they started it all is pretty illogical, and you should understand that if what you're saying is true about what you are studying.

Can't u c ur statement?

"MANY SERBS WANT TO SHIFT BLAME ON US"
In what post did I write those exact words? I think you're getting me mixed up with someone else.

P.S. I used to hang around for years with a group of 20-30 Yugos, coming from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, and of course Montenegro. And they weren't kids, but men with families living in the UK.

There, do u c now?

And so what if u hanged out with a bunch of Ex-Yugo's? What does that proove in this argument? That Serbs r nationalists? Yes, many r, but what does that have to do with 3 on 3 fight in a basketball match???

Oh, people from USA don't know where Europe and Asia r , they probably wont come to Turkey... that's the same statement as yours. Please, explain...

Yeah, found the statement.

My mistake not remembering.

What I meant was that Serbian media and statements from Serbia's NT players were of an unapologetic attitude. As if we actually wanted to start a whole fight over petty BS? I don't think so.

Well about the nationalism thing, note that I didn't say ALL Serbs are nationalists, but this was my opinion and also the opinion of others who I knew who were associated with Serbians, and even Serbs admitted it to me themselves. Of course you can't generalize, but through my experience the characteristic has been encountered frequently.

This is what has been associated with part of (however that is NOT denying great skill that made many Serbs/Yugoslavs great figures of the world basketball of all time) Yugoslavian/Serbian basketball achievements. At least from the side of Greece.

Serbia never likes to lose a match, even if it is a friendly. Connected with the unexplainable anger of the team after Duda's ejection from the game (the refs assigned for the friendly matches were asses however, Hellas NT has been having problems with them trying to impose their authority on the game as if they are the most important thing in the game- these are idiots who are trying to make a name for themselves so that they may get called in the future to referee in European/International basketball events) The Serbia NT has been involved in fights before. Not wanting to lose a match even by one point, fights, and the mention of nationalist attitudes being rife in Serbia give quite the view of Serbs being nationalist in Greece.

Well Fotsis and Sofo got banned from playing the first two games of the WC. Not a problem.

Teodosic got the same, and Krstic got a three game ban. Both Yugoslav players however are going to be fined apparently.

I will comment nothing more from your post above, cause basketball forum is not the place to do it...

I am not sure about this. Media r shiit, everywhere. They will make problems where there is non. I am pretty sure that Media in Greece somehow managed to find the videos of Tedosic and Krstic preparing their guns and go into the war to kill everyone in Greece, but that was not the case...

It is the same on our side where it was the Greeks who provoked the fight (in some papers). But, I don't believe nor ur but not our side also.

The only thing that I wanted to c is video of Teodosic and Krstic apologizing, and i saw that. That is enough for me. They've admited the mistakes, regrated for it and apologized. Nothing else meters to me...

I agree, the media try to sell papers and news by spinning absolutely anything anyway possible to get a buck <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

The thing also was, that the apology was not prompt from Teodosic and Krstic. Only when it was heard that punishments from FIBA were on the way to both sides involved in the fight did the players admit their mistake.
