2010/11 season signings and rumours - straight forward - Oct 11, 2010

Good news, Trifunovič should be three time better than Anzulovič and Maskoliūnas knows what Kurtinaitis did with Rytas. Maskoliūnas, mhhh, I guess he wanted to have distance from the mad guy <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Why not? He can be in TBL.
When considering pure talent and ability, yes. But his pride and ego will get the best of him eventually. He belongs in the NBA in his mind, and not just as a player but as a star. Even if he dominates the TBL, his ego won't be satisfied. And I highly doubt that he'll dominate anyway, since his skills have severely deteriorated and the difference between what he perceives he can do and what he can actually still do is huge. Not to mention the different style of play from what he's used to, other players' determination to beat him every night and teams focusing on stopping him.

Judging by the result (1 Greek cup in two seasons) he didn't do the right choice. That is why I spoke of injustice both to himself and basketball. And this is exactly why he said he will leave Greece again because of the situation. So he is obviously regretting his decision.
Yes, obviously he regrets his decision not because he didn't manage to win Euroleague (neither did "legend" Holden the last two years that Teo left CSKA and winning Russian championship should not be considered enough for him)or greek championship but due to lack of organization at A1

Iverson is totally washed up. I don't think he will do that good in TBL or Eurocup.

Asseco Prokom has landed J.R. Giddens another American guard with NBA experience.

I'm willing to bet Iverson doesn't reach November with Besiktas if he does sign eventually...the guy just can't accept that he's no longer a big superstar.
Iverson is done. He "had" tremendous physical talent. He was one of those freakish talents that the USA is known to produce. He was Amazing BUT he never was good at team ball. NEVER at any point in time did he ever wholly submit to the team effort. Iverson could have been one of the greatest point guards in history BUT now he will only be known as a glorified street baller. His atheletic ability has dwindled and he was never one to spend much time in the gym or even practice. Unless his personality has changed then I would not expect him to be any good. AI (Allen Iverson) is dead the player Besiktas may get is a slow old man with tattos. Still AI was one of the most spectacular players to watch. He was virtually unguardable! No one could stop him. He made defenders look like fools. He also had amazing court vision but he never passed the ball. On defense he was tenaious when wanted to be. His career is a shame because he could have been so much more. RIP peace Allen Iverson we will miss you!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

I'm sad now....

I think it's just Besiktas doing it for the publicity. After the World Championship in Turkey, basketball is more on the minds of people there and Besiktas is a big club with money, yet unlike Efes and Fener they don't really have much of a basketball side.

So I think this is their way to try to generate some fan interest and maybe get some sponsors and some marketing. I don't think they are targeting Iverson with winning a championship in mind.

I think Iverson could still put up plenty of points on a team like Besiktas in TBL and Eurocup, but I don't think it will be a success in terms of winning a lot of games. It also might not last long with his coach, as coaches in Europe really don't like ball hogging.

Anyway, if he does sign the good thing will be that maybe the Eurocup will get some press in the US. So far people in the US only consider the Euroleague and the ACB to be "minor leagues" (not pro according to most Americans) and they don't even consider the other leagues to even "count at all".

Maybe people will see Iverson playing in the second level Eurocup and they will see that even in the second level there is some good club basketball in Europe.

I still remember back when Iverson was a rookie and he crossed over Jordan with a crazy move and broke MJ's ankles big time. Me and my friends went crazy when he did that. But those days are long gone........

Lietuvos Rytas interested in Jasikevicius?

Could be. They need PG and Šaras is free agent. As Vainauskas put it in his interview this season, Šaras said he will finish his career in Rytas, but this day hasn't come yet. On other hand, in one interview Šaras said he wouldn't mind to play for Žalgiris. Anyway, I doubt it will be Šaras, but everything is possible now.

James Gist is the main target of Partizan. The sports director of the Serbian team, Dragan Todorovic, confirmed the interest for the 23-year-old American forward, currently a member of the San Antonio Spurs pre-season roster.

2010/11 season signings and rumours - Led00 - Oct 17, 2010

Damn it, do we always have to complete rooster after EL starts! It's bloody EL week, and we still don't have confirmed 1 and 4!

2010/11 season signings and rumours - TalkBasket - Oct 19, 2010

Jasikevičius turned down Rytas. It appears that he isn't really interested in signing a contract any time soon. After all this time that he spent without a club I wouldn't be surprised if he follows the path of Macas <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

lrytas.lt reports that Rytas will sign either Khalid El-Amin or Scoonie Penn. While according to krepsinis.net, the new point guard will be El-Amin for $260k.

I also think that Å aras might retire after all. Well, the clock is ticking.

Both El- Amin or Penn wouldn't be worse than Johnson. Penn is better defender while El-Amin could be one of these important finishers, I would like to see him in Rytas better.

Offical now - El- Amin joined the team, but won't play against Fenerbache tomorrow.

2010/11 season signings and rumours - Black Urum - Oct 20, 2010

It was time for him to make it into Euroleague.
