What NBA teams usually have the most primetime games? Also, what's the deciding factor for those teams to get those primetime spots on television??

No club bout the second part but it should be Miami Heat, LA Lakers ans Boston Celtics.

The deciding factors are the size of the market (NY and LA are likely to get more national TV coverage, even if they suck, than Minnesota or Memphis) and obviously, how good and interesting the team is (good teams always get more coverage than crappy teams), and games with an interesting "plot" (Shaq vs Kobe, LeBron vs Cleveland, etc.) are likely to get coverage as well.

Scout I just want to say. you always have good post! First I would just like to say there has to be a distinction between national primetime and local primetime. I assume you are asking about National primetime. If so What Kobimel said is accurate. The factors seem to be "Quality of team" vs "Size of team market" vs "overall entertainment value". I would also add another factor "location" What region of the United States your in determines what game is on primetime. Unfortunately when it comes to NBA national primetime is usually costal and not split more than two ways. So for example while The east coast gets "Miami vs Boston" the west coast may get "Lakers vs Nuggets or Spurs". A game like "Thunder vs Dallas" may not make the primetime cut. The networks and NBA have did much to fix this but more needs to be done.

I've always wondered what the deciding factors are for the National primetime spots. Thanks for clarifying! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
