It was his dream since a child to play for Milano I think. It is not just about the money for him. He has said for many years he wants to play in Europe specifically Italy.

[/quote]

Exactly, I remembered that statement from some years ago, and that's why I mentioned it now. It would be good if he joined a club like AJ Milano and made them a Euroleague powerhouse! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

I always believed that NBA stars can never be the best in Europe. Its just to different <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

NBA's Lock Out and... Euroleague!! - Kenneth23 - Feb 17, 2011

I think some NBA players would be great in Europe but they would need time to adjust to the level of competition and playingstyle. Because in Europe there is a lot of competition even from the smaller clubs. In the NBA mostly the same teams play for the title.

Yeah I agree with this. It will take a while to adjust but they could do it. Many NBA players in the past have played well in Europe. It is hard to play away from home BUT certain NBA players like say Kevin Durant his talents will translate well into Europe or anywhere. Same with Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant and many others. Basketball is basketball really.

LOL! You know what's interesting? If Kobe Bryant went with ,Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Ron Artest played for Barcelona or some other Spanish team. This could very well happen.

NBA's Lock Out and... Euroleague!! - TeoTheGreek13 - Feb 17, 2011

I read that Jagla said that Nowitzki will go in a team of Germany or he will play for Panathinaikos. I wish it's true. I also know that Dirk loves Greece and he is coming almost every summer. Come on Dirk!!!!

NBA's Lock Out and... Euroleague!! - Black Urum - Feb 18, 2011

Quote:Because of the high demand for tickets, Bayern’s next home game on Saturday will be played in Munich’s Olympic hall.

All 12'500 tickets have already sold out, creating a record for the league.

This hasn't gone unnoticed with German superstar Dirk Nowitzki.

"Munich is a great city and offers the right environment," the Mavericks star said in an interview recently. "The money is right and basketball is accepted by the fans. The top game of the 2nd League against my former team Würzburg in mid-February has already sold out. I think it's really good what's developing over there."

Basketball has become an event in Munich. On the sidelines you regularly see football stars like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Muller, high-ranked politicians as well as entertainment stars.

The full potential of basketball in Munich is yet to be proven, when Bayern will play next season in Germany’s top league BBL.

Here is Arena.

As for next year to play in this arena:

Quote:The club’s most pressing dilemma is to find a proper venue. The Olympic hall is ruled out as it is fully booked with other events, and the Olympic basketball arena from the 1972 Olympics needs a complete refurbishment.

NBA's Lock Out and... Euroleague!! - Raze Lupin - Feb 18, 2011

I like it when basketball is growing in other counries. It's good for basketball and exciting to me personally. GO GEMANY! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />

NBA's Lock Out and... Euroleague!! - MaccabiTA - Feb 19, 2011

Remember when in the Sumer Stoudemire came to Israel, declared he's Jewish and all that (and somehow it happened in the same summer when he signed for the Knicks, the team that plays in the city with biggest Jewish population).

So he said that he'd love to come to Israel and spend much more time than just a few days like in the summer..

Also Bryant said every top team in Europe might be an option in case he comes when he was asked if there's a chance he'll come to Maccabi.

The most interesting thing about these stars that might come is that money probably won't be such an issue for them, cuz they got tons of it and what they'll get here isn't significant for them so they might make their decisions for other reasons, like Bryant an his past with Italy for example.

Maybe LeBron's teammate Arroyo and former teammate, Anthony Parker can talk a bit about Maccabi <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> I wouldn't mind

Yes of course I remember! I'm a huge Knicks fan and New Yorker. HAHA Yes thats was a BIG coincidence. *wink* I've seen him in interviews talking about Jewish heritage from his mothers side. He also talked about going back to Israel to learn more about his history. I could see him playing for Maccabi.

Rumors here moved around the 2.5... The most expensive player in Maccabi's history. After that the owners said they'll never try to do the same thing and never repeat this mistake. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />
