CBA import listing (updating..) - sinobball - Jul 15, 2007 In China, imports are only listed under their "Chinese" names which makes it very difficult to determine their English (or Brazilian/Croatian/Lithuanian etc.) names. Sometimes, a player named "Matt Smith" will be either "Ma Te" or "Si Mi Si" in China, which is impossible to decipher without other information. Asia-basket.com is a great help in this respect (especially in recent years). Note: This list does not include the 20+ ethnic Chinese players from Taiwan (including top Taiwanese players Cheng Chih Lung, Chou Chun San, Lo Shin Liang), Hong Kong, etc. who played in CBA. *--did not play in playoffs 2006-07 CBA (Starting this season, playoff teams can pick 1 import from non-playoffs teams) Bayi (Army): None Zhejiang Horses: Soumaila Samake, Kevin Freeman*, (Lorenzo Coleman) Guangdong: Jason Dixon, Terrance Green Shanghai: Reggie Okosa, Jermaine Dearman Liaoning: Ernest Brown, Pat Simpson Fujian: Chris Porter, Kit Rhymer*, (Brandon Crump) Jiangsu: Garnett Thompson, Carlos Dixon Shandong: Herve Lamizana, Mack Tuck ------------------------------------ Xinjiang: Lorenzo Coleman, Doug Wrenn Dongguan: Anthony Myles, Michael Fey Shaanxi: Brandon Crump Zhejiang Lions: Gabe Muoneke Honghe: Ken Johnson, Wil Frisby Beijing: Micah Brand, Rob Joyner Shanxi: God Shammgod, Rashid Byrd Jilin: Babacar Camara, Darius Rice 2005-06 CBA (Starting this season, a team cannot change imports during the season) Guangdong: Jason Dixon, Terrance Green Jilin: Rod Gregoire, Babacar Camara Bayi (Army): None Liaoning: Reggie Butler, Justin Brown Jiangsu: Jason Klotz, Carlos Dixon Xinjiang: Lorenzo Coleman, Randall Jackson Beijing: Nate Burton, Nate Williams Honghe: Jon Smith, B.B. I didn't know that the names of the players are translated that way. I thought that they have their names written in Chinese characters but these sounds completely different from the real names. I see many familiar names of the players that played in the NBA such as Soumaila Samake, Lorenzo Coleman, Gabe Muoneke, Corey Benjamin, Olumide Oyedeji etc. Curtis Millage is playing for Latvian champions ASK Riga now and I see that he played in China too. One of the top Lithuanian players ever Saulius à  tombergas has alos played there one season in the beginning of his career. CBA import listing (updating..) - MaccabiTA - Feb 22, 2012 not exactly the right topic but that's the only CBA related topic I found and I didn't wanna open a new one.. just watch the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr7K7DOAZns CBA import listing (updating..) - stefans - Feb 23, 2012 What a funny league CBA import listing (updating..) - skangles - Feb 25, 2012 It's interesting that the NBA players who went to China during the lockout have all since fled the league despite having contracts for the full season (K-Mart, Wilson Chandler, JR Smith). I can't say that I blame them. Starbury must have absolutely dominated this league when he signed a few years ago. He was old and washed up but I cannot imagine anybody being able to stop him. RE: CBA import listing (updating..) - TalkBasket - Nov 14, 2016 How many players have scored at least +50 in CBA? Sometimes it's getting ridiculous. This time it's Jamaal Franklin who had triple double with 61 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. |
