NBA season 2008-2009 - rikhardur - 10-29-2008 So the season has started and the Celtics downed the Cavaliers 90-85. The Bulls are on the verge of getting their first win of the season against the Bucks. Definitely title favorites this season. - rikhardur - 10-31-2008 Rockets vs Mavericks online broadcast here now. - rikhardur - 10-31-2008 I heard one of the commentators saying that one extra step doesn't matter when making a beautiful shot or something. Nowitzki clearly made one step more before converting a layup. It wasn't called, but it's exactly those baskets that make the difference in a game. And if it wasn't for that extra step most shots wouldn't be converted in the first place. I was appalled at hearing what that commentator said. Nowitzki 12 pts in 5 minutes as the Mavericks catch up after losing by 10+. 62-59 for the Rockets. - TalkBasket - 10-31-2008
I heard one of the commentators saying that one extra step doesn't matter when making a beautiful shot or something. It's funny when they try to justify them. - rikhardur - 10-31-2008
All those "show friendly" stupid rule changes are nonsense if you ask me. Btw the Mavs lost the game 112-102... - rikhardur - 11-01-2008 Spurs vs Blazers online broadcast here now. - Straight Faced - 11-02-2008 The first Pistons game was a good one. They beat the Wizards 117-109 Boxscore can be found here. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.nba.com/games/20081101/WASDET/boxscore.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.nba.com/games/20081101/WASDET/boxscore.html</a><!-- m --> - rikhardur - 11-05-2008 Mavericks vs Spurs online broadcast here now. Celtics vs Rockets online broadcast here now. - rikhardur - 11-05-2008 The Rockets nearly grabbed a win, Rick Adelman with very clever tactics to try to win the game, but in the end McGrady missed a FT and Barry the final 3-pointer (an airball actually). The Mavericks held the lead very early in the game, the Spurs were no match for them this time. I guess they missed Ginóbili very much, although Parker had a great display with 22 points and his crazy layups and penetrations in traffic. Nowitzki 30 pts + 7 rebs. - Kobester - 11-06-2008 will A.I play vs V.C. tomorrow ? - Straight Faced - 11-06-2008 Yes, he was supposed to play against the Raptors but Billups didn't have is physical yet. - Kobester - 11-07-2008 nice 10x <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ![]() - rikhardur - 11-14-2008 And the Mavericks lost yet again... They are now 2-6 and things don't seem like they are going to improve. While other teams made great trades and signings, the Mavs acquired Kidd and that was it. Kidd's still a great player, but what the team needed was a big time centre. Dampier is good, but with a dominant centre and him coming off the bench, the team would lift off imo. And about Carlisle, I don't know if he was a great choice. There were better and free coaches at the time, but the Mavs just took too much time to pick one. The team has great difficulty in overcoming difficulties and last night they just let go a 19-point advantage. The third and especially the end of the fourth quarters were horrible, they just seemed like they didn't know what they were doing on court. Something definitely has to change. - Straight Faced - 11-14-2008 I don't think Carlisle was a good choice either. His philosophy is totally opposite of Avery Johnsons, which means the players aren't conditioned right, or they may just not be the right players at all. - rikhardur - 11-17-2008 The Mavs finally grab a win again (even if in OT...) against the Knicks. Dirk with 39 points. - rikhardur - 11-18-2008 Shaq ejected vs the Pistons after this hard foul (ouch): [y]DobXKM8CfuU[/y] - Kobester - 11-18-2008 oh god damn :X - rikhardur - 11-22-2008 Quote:Clippers Acquire Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins From Knicks <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.nba.com/clippers/news/zrandolph_collins_081121.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.nba.com/clippers/news/zrando ... 81121.html</a><!-- m --> |
