Maccabi will travel to United States in October to face New Jersey Nets. It's not the famous Maccabi Tel Aviv though. Nets decided to invite Maccabi Haifa for exhibition game on October 3 at the Prudential Center, InsideHoops reports. Maccabi Haifa currently lies in 4th place in Israeli league with 12 wins and 6 losses.

The number of wins recorded by Nets this season is higher by only one despite the fact that they played 70 games already. The Nets are having the wors season in both club's and NBA history.

Maccabi's owner Jeffrey Rosen is a native of New Jersey. He believes that the game against NBA team will be a great international exposure to his team. Nets CEO Brett Yormark is also positive about the upcoming event. According to him, this game will a an opportunity for the Nets fans to see a team with rich history.

Prudential Center will be the home of New Jersey Nets for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons as the team moves to Newark.

Haifa wll play with the Nets, Galil with the Kings and probably Maccabi will play with some NBA teams too, not bad for the Israei basketball not bad at all.
I'm a big Nets fan (as you know, Vilius) so I'm both happy for Haifa and Israeli basketball and even happier that the Nets will finally have a chance to be favorites to win a game again. Biggrin
I read this news yesterday, and saw Maccabi only. I thought that it was Maccabi Tel Aviv. Smile Good Luck Haifa. Thup

A Nets fan AND an Hapoel fan...now THAT'S rare. It has made me come to expect losing and has made winning a pleasant surprise. Laugh

Unfortunately, I was born and raised an Hapoel fan. But I've embraced my destiny. Biggrin

As for the Nets, I lived in Jersey for nearly 6 years, and they were the local team. They were even good back then! (back to back NBA Finals)
