PAO-CSKA will be very, very interesting, but I think CSKA will come with a lot of motivation to redeem themselves after the embarrassing Milano loss.

Whoever wins will most likely get the top spot of the group. Panathinaikos being favourites at this moment.
I won't miss Rytas - Siena! Are you kidding me, Krištofas and Rimas against Lithuanian team, that's more than a dessert for me <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> It's nice to see some trust for Rytas. Yeah they playing better at home, but they are far from being a team at the moment. Siena is big favourite. As for other teams:

Wednesday, Ocotber 27th

Prokom - Baskonia

Partizan - Khimki

Bamberg - Olympiacos

Charleroi - Roma

Rytas - Siena

Cholet - Barcelona

Efes Pilsen - Valencia

Thursday, October 28th

Maccabi - Zalgiris (Will be interesting. These two teams have history and the pain of 2004 is still here).

Real Madrid - Unicaja (I could not vote differently, just because of "professor"...)

Cibona - Fenerbahce

Panathinaikos - CSKA (IMO, this season CSKA is way deeper IMO even if PAO might be in better shape currently).
PAO vs CSKA Seems lke a great match! I wish I could watch it. After seeing CSKA Play the Oklahoma City Thunder I was impressed. They are definitly a strong team. Tragdon Langden seems a bit off his game. It seems maybe he is in a bit of a slump. If he gets back on track and the younger guys continue to contribute they could be something special. Does anyone know how I can watch the game???

I don't know why you are so happy. After watching Lithuanians for years in EL the conclusion is they are sadists. They slaughter Lithuanian teams when they are opponents, I expect the same to happen.

I agree CSKA is deeper but they are missing Kaun, Khryapa and Holden, Vorontsevich are not ready yet.

Also predicting 11/12 away wins is almost statistically impossible.

Anyway, my predictions:

Prokom - Baskonia

Partizan - Khimki

Bamberg - Olympiacos

Charleroi - Roma

Rytas - Siena

Cholet - Barcelona

Efes Pilsen - Valencia

Maccabi - Zalgiris

Real Madrid - Unicaja

Cibona - Fenerbahce

Panathinaikos - CSKA

AJ Milano - Olimpija

Raze Lupin I will post some links some time prior to the game. It starts at 20:45 CET (central European time) tomorrow. Make sure to check either this thread or the free and live links thread
You right: last week it was Darjus, now Ksistof + Kaukėnas ( <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' /> ). They like to look good in front of their friends and family.

I'm loving Valanciunas so far. His flow to the basket is so natural and due to his long hands he can just leave the ball into the net.

Of course it also has to do with the fact that there is now a decent PG to pass him the ball in the right moment like El-Amin does so far.
Partizan again showed strength. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> Jawai the killer <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />
Great win for Partizan! This team keeps coming back and back, even if losing its stars every summer. Really admirable.

Great win for Brose Basket too, already three home wins in 7 games.
Now, we wait for Gist and r looking towards top16 where Partizan belongs!

Good point. Valančiūnas is facing problems in defence, but I don't want that he would try to bulk up desperately and would cut that talent he has. Rytas should look for a replacement for Nalga and as soon as Gecevičius and El- Amin will find their peak, Rytas will be OK, IMO. I hope it won't be too late, I want them in top 16, nothing lost so far, two loses against favourites of the group.
Yup, Rytas is lucky to have Cibona and Cholet in the same group.

Regarding Valanciunas, it's just a matter of nature really, a 17 year old kid can not go head to ehad with a grown up man. Only time will sort this problem out.No need to rush. In Europe players mature late, especially big guys.
Half time in tel aviv 47-27 for maccabi against zalgiris, sofo is killing them with 17 pts.
Sofo must have had a career high scoring and indexing in Euroleague. All it took was a coach taking full advantage of him.
But what a pathetic performance by Žalgiris. Really disappointing. So far I'm not happy about rotation. Kalnietis, Delininkaitis and Kuzminskas are not getting their deserved roles.

Maccabi will be hardly beatable in home this season.
Scores updated.

It seems to me that Panathinaikos has turned the clock back and is playing like before the arrivals of Jasikevicius and Spanoulis (the 2nd time). Meaning tough defence, slow attacks, Diamantides running the point (and very well) and the big guys fighting a lot in the paint.

So far it works, and eventhough not the prettiest site, I like it. I like it a lot. Plus after two games Panathinaikos is 2-0 and CSKA is 0-2. The top position of group will help a lot in the Top16 draw.

And what a win by Olimpija! 2-0 and hosting Panathinaikos next week in a sold out new arena. Good days.
Maccabi has won a great player, sofo came here for

not too much money and VERY motivated to work hard and prove what he worth.

I hope that in the next weeks maccabi will keep improving and working better as a team, 2 tough games away are waiting, a big challenge for a new team.
