bold ones should be sure
Quote:There is chance that I will be seen by Lithuanian basketball coaches and they see how good I can be and ask me to play for senior national team but for chance like this I would give 0,000000000001%

Sagenas You have good sense of humor. This made me laugh. :-)Jonas Valanciunas and Deividas Pukis will no doubt be key. Will you post a list of other young Lietuva players that might be at 2011 U19 WC?

Who elese on this roster will be great?

http://www.fibaeurope-u18men.com/en/defa...ndID=7323&

I plan on making a profile of the young American players. It would be nice if everyone would do this for their country. Then we can compare and contrast and discuss.

pohani komarachis This seems like great list! Will you give analysis and information of players. for example G/F Marin Kukoc (201 92. Penn state) Marin looks promising. Dario Saric is playing with older guys and dominatiing. In Euro U18 he averaged 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 Assists. There is no reason why he will not do well in the U19 tournament.

U18 Croatia page:

I'm going to do a roster profile for USA soon like I did for Canada. Everyone can discuss the great talents in this world.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn....I wrote such a long and informative post and my browser restarted Angry oh well....I'll write it later...bshit.

i don't know much about Marin as he lives in US...but his father says he is not that much in basketball, he is more focused on school. I guess that's why he went to Penn

here is my personal opinion on our most important players

Dario Saric

+ phenomenal bbiq and feal for game, methal toughnes, loves to take big shoots and be a leader. passion for game, toghnes, hard worker, very active on glass, can do almost evrything and play all positions, great ball handling for size and extra creativity, ok athleticisam, very unselfish
- poor one on one defense against smaller faster players, makes lot of turnoves and ofensive fouls, can get very nurves, talks a lot with refs, poor latherall quicknes, must woork on his shooting

trully is our best prospect since Kukoc and Petrovic. NIKE already singed him and that says much. Already good in Croatian A1 league

Boris Barac

+ great fundumentals, very good shooter, can play inside and outside, not afraid of contact, plays with good confidance for kid
- bit undersized (even tough judging by his brother he could get few cm more as he growe latter), average rebounder, avreage athleticley

Euroleague level prospect, plays in very good adriatic league and didn't disapoint. Had some very good games there

Toni Katic

+ Speed, good playmaking abilitys, fundametals, drives, not afraid, love for game decent creativity
- Average ballhandling, shooting touch, defense, turnovers ball a lot

Euroleague level prospect by my opinion. Among the best players in Croatian A1 league wich is week league, but for young player still decent competition. Let's say top 10 players could play on averege europian lavel imidatley

Marko Ramljak

+ dose bit of evrything on court, good athletic abilitys and long arms
- very mechanical in his moves, does evrything but dosen't stand out in anything, shooting

Euroleague prospect, but such a type of player rarley make's it.

Filip Najev

+ strong and athletic body, good shooting touch with feet set, great timeing for blocking shoots
- udersized, bit limited ofensevly, runing away from basket to much, lacks of fighting spirit, questionable atitude

he could develop in good euro player, but must impruve a lot wich will be hard judgig by his atitude

Roko Rogic

+ can shoot like crazy when hot, good scoring ability, good charater
- lacking of playmaking and athletic abilitys.

born backup in some average clubs at best

rest players won't be much in rotation but i'd like to add two players that shows a lot of promise that could bloom latter

Franko Sango...very taleted player that he is able to play 1-4 position. Has almost evrything but somehow he never figures out how to totaly use them on court. He had some grat stats on loan in Croatian A2 league this season tough, so I'm hoping he impruved

Josip Mikulic....typicall tall PF with great shooting abilitys. Big upside, but raw. I haven't see hime since he left to US, but I guess he is dooing good as he already commited to North Carolina state. Probably won't be in team tough
Quote:What browser do you use? Afaik firefox saves your text even in case of a crash.

I use many browsers but this time I used opera....in some other web sites it saves text but not here. Whatever....I'll post that again...
Ok, here's some information about those players who played past summer (about other possible candidates I'm going to write next time).

Renaldas Simanavičius PG 1.85 30.05.1992 KK Kaunas (LKL)
Deividas Pukis SG 1.94 10.01.1992 Christian Life Center High School (USA)
Evaldas Aniulis PG 1.88 24.01.1992 Wasatch Academy (USA)
Edgaras Ulanovas SG 1.99 07.01.1992 Žalgiris-Sabonio mokykla (NKL)
Dovydas Redikas SG 1.95 11.12.1992 Perlas (LKL)
Tadas Maželis SF 1.94 25.12.1992 Nafta-universitetas (NKL)
Egidijus Mockevičius C 2.07 01.09.1992 KK Akademija (NKL)
Tautvydas Sabonis PF 2.02 01.05.1992 Clínicas Rincon (LEB Gold), UNICAJA S.D (EBA)
Žygimantas Skučas PF 2.00 18.03.1992 Žalgiris-Sabonio mokykla (NKL)
Vytenis Čižauskas PG 1.90 16.09.1992 Nevėžis (LKL)
Rolandas Jakštas PF 2.00 28.09.1992 KK Kaunas (LKL)
Jonas Valanciūnas C 2.10 06.05.1992 Lietuvos Rytas (LKL)

We can say that we have only one SF but Maželis didn't get many playing time so our coaches used Redikas and

Ulanovas as SF.

I won't write anything about Valančiūnas because you know everything so...

Some other things, you may not noticed:

*Deividas Pukis at the start of this years suffered injury but it seems that he will play in coming WC.
*Few weeks ago Aniulis had enormous performance playing final state's game or something like that..he made

triple double - 13pts, 13reb, 15as, 3stl.

*Mockevičius didn't get many playing time past summer but right now he is the most efficient player in whole

NKL (second Lithuanian division) ...also he leads league's rebounding stats.
THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL but 2011 U19 NT Men's team will mostly if entirely made up of U18 roster. USA won gold in November 2010 FiBA Americas. Just in case their is confusion on abbreviation POS=Position HGT =height WGT=weight YOG=(year of graduation from High School). I will update more information later....

Sagenas nice info I can't wait to hear more. It looks like 1992 year was a good year to have kids in Lietuva. Lol To contrast USA does not have any gold level players on the roster not like Jonas. We do have a roster full of silver level players.

pohani komarachis I couldn't find too much more on Marin. It's just like you said he cares more about academics than basketball. He was even looking to attend Cornell University before he changed his mind, Wow! He must be a pretty smart kid. Many of the NBA kids are like this though. It will be exciting to see what the Croats do in Group C. If they can beat Lietuva their confidence will be high.

• 2011 USA Men's U19 World Championship Training Camp Roster

Seventeen of the nation's top 19-and-unders, including seven possessing prior USA Basketball experience, have accepted invitations from the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee to attend the 2011 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team training camp, USA Basketball today announced. The training camp, which will be held June 17-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., will be used to select the 12-member team that will represent the USA at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship.

The USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee, chaired by NCAA representative Jim Boeheim (head coach, Syracuse University), is expected to announce on June 19 finalists for the 12-member USA U19 World Championship Team roster. Training camp for the selected finalists will begin in the afternoon on June 19, with the official 12-member USA roster being announced prior to the teams' departure for Europe on June 24. The 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship for Men is being held June 30-July 10 in Valmiera, Liepaja and Riga Latvia.

"Between the coaching staff and the 17 players that will be participating in the USA U19 training camp, we believe we have assembled another outstanding group who should give us an excellent opportunity to defend our U19 World Championship gold medal," said Boeheim. "The USA Basketball Men's Collegiate Committee again did an excellent job of identifying a very talented group of young players who will compete during the first three days of the training camp for a roster position on the USA Basketball U19 World Championship Team."

Accepting invitations to attend the 2011 USA Basketball U19 World Championship Team training camp were: Keith Appling (Michigan State/Detroit, Mich.); Melsahn Basabe (Iowa/Glen Cove, N.Y.); Brad Beal (Chaminade College Prep/St. Louis, Mo.); James Bell (Villanova/Orlando, Fla.); Anthony Brown (Stanford/Huntington Beach, Calif.); Trevor Cooney (Sanford School/Wilmington, Del.); Allen Crabbe (California/Los Angeles, Calif.); Tim Hardaway, Jr. (Michigan/Miami, Fla.); Joe Jackson (Memphis/Memphis, Tenn.); Jeremy Lamb (Connecticut/Norcross, Ga.); Meyers Leonard (Illinois/Robinson, Ill.); Doug McDermott (Creighton/ Ames, Iowa); Travis McKie (Wake Forest/Richmond, Va.); Tony Mitchell (North Texas/Dallas, Texas); Richard Solomon (California/Los Angeles, Calif.); Josiah Turner (Quality Education Academy/ Sacramento, Calif.); and Patric Young (Florida/Jacksonville, Fla.).

Seven of the players possess prior USA Basketball experience including one member of the 2010 USA U17 World Championship gold medalist team and three players from the 2010 USA U18 National Team that captured gold at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

Beal returns as the lone member of the USA U17 Team that won last summer's FIBA U17 World Championship, and he was also a member of the 2009 USA U16 team that won gold, as well as the 2011 USA Junior Select Team that captured a win in the Nike Hoop Summit on April 9.

Cooney, Mitchell and Young were part of USA Basketball's 2010 U18 team, while Young was selected for the USA Junior Select Team that won the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit.

Other players possessing USA Basketball trials experience include Appling, Bell and Jackson.

Included on the roster are 14 student-athletes who attended a NCAA Division I school and three who finished their high school career this year. The University of California, with Crabbe and Solomon, and University of Florida, with Young and incoming freshman Beal, are the only colleges sending multiple representatives.

Lamb helped lead the University of Connecticut to the 2011 NCAA title and along the way was named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team after averaging 16.2 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Eight athletes listed among their NCAA conference all-freshman squads following the 2010-11 season, including two who were named their conference's freshman of the year. Crabbe was named the Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, and McDermott was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Additionally, Jackson collected MVP honors for the Conference USA Tournament, Lamb was named to the Big East Conference All-Tournament Team, and McDermott was also named All-Missouri Valley Conference first team.

Recently named George Mason University head coach Paul Hewitt is head coach of the USA U19 World Championship Team, and Randy Bennett of St. Mary's College and Cliff Warren of Jacksonville University are assistant coaches.

In addition to Boeheim, the 2009-12 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Committee includes NCAA appointees Lorenzo Romar (head coach, University of Washington), Bruce Weber (head coach, University of Illinois) and Roy Williams (head coach, University of North Carolina); and athlete representative Jay Williams, a member of the 2002 USA World Championship Team.

FIBA U19 World Championship

Led by then University of Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel, the 2010 USA U18 National Team secured the USA’s berth to the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship with a 5-0 and gold medal finish in its zone qualifier, the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, held June 26-30 in San Antonio, Texas.

Sixteen nations will battle for the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship for Men title June 30-July 10 in Latvia. The United States has been placed in Group D, along with China, Egypt and Serbia. The 12 remaining 19-and-under national teams were distributed as such: Group A includes Brazil, Poland, Russia and Tunisia; Group B consists of Argentina, Australia, Latvia and Taiwan; and Group C is comprised of Canada, Croatia, Lithuania and South Korea.

The U.S. squad's preliminary round slate opens with a June 30 contest against Egypt, followed by Serbia on July 1, and the USA squad will conclude preliminary play July 2 versus China. The top three teams from each preliminary group will qualify for the preliminary second round, while the fourth place teams will qualify for the classification round to determine 13th to 16th places.

The twelve teams qualified for the second round, which will be played July 4-6, will be divided into groups E and F, with six teams in each group. The top three preliminary round teams from groups A and B will advance to Group E, and the top three from C and D will advance to Group F. Each team will play the three new teams in its new group, with the final scores of all games played in the preliminary round carrying over to determine the second round standings.

Teams finishing in first through fourth places in the two second round groups will qualify for the quarterfinals, with the opportunity to advance to the semifinals and finals. Teams finishing in fifth and sixth places in Groups E and F will play for ninth through 12th places. The quarterfinals will be held on July 8, semifinals are slated for July 9 and the gold and bronze medal games, as well as the 5th/6th place and 7th/8th place games will be contested on July 10.

Originally known as the FIBA Junior World Championship, the tournament was held every four years from 1979 - 2007. Starting in 2009 FIBA changed its calendar and now holds age-based world championships every other year. USA men's teams are 62-11 in the U19/Junior World Championships, and have won four gold and three silver medals, most recently earning the gold medal for the first time since 1991 with a 9-0 record in 2009.

USA U19 World Championship for Men Players of note include: Stacey Augmon (1987), Vin Baker (1991), Michael Beasley (2007), Dee Brown (2003), Vince Carter (1995), Nick Collison (1999), Seth Curry (2009), Stephen Curry (2007), Paul Davis (2003), Eric Floyd (1979), Jonny Flynn (2007), Ashton Gibbs (2009), Gordon Hayward (2009), Larry Johnson (1987), Stephon Marbury (1995), Gary Payton (1987), Sam Perkins (1979), Wesley Person (1991), Kevin Pittsnogle (2003), J.J. Redick (2003), Bobby Simmons (1999), Scott Skiles (1983), Tyshawn Taylor (2009), Howard Thompkins (2009), Deron Williams (2003) and James Worthy (1979).
So should we call this squad the B-Team jr?? It seems like USA U19 is at a definite disadvantage losing the bulk of its FIBA trained team members. I like the "B-Team jr" handle. Thup Rofl3 Laugh

Interesting tournament. Lithuania can expect fans coming to support, also Latvians could give some support. Now major question is Valanciunas, they expect to have him, but it is still under question. I wonder how physical this USA team is. We'll see.
Itresting decision by Croatian basketball federation, at leas by daily paper edition of "Sportske Novosti". Don't know if it's credible, but I guess it is. They wrote wide roster of U-18 team and said some of thir players will join them after U-19 world championship (that's how they said). Saric (SF 94. 207), Bundovic (PF 94. 206), Brzoja (SG 94. 198), Ramljak (SF 93. 201), Buovac (SG/SF 93. 199), Junaković (PG 94. 185) and Mavra (SG/PG 94. 194) ....also there is info big cadet prospect Hezonja (SG/SF 95. 198) will also be there

I guess we are not going on result, but going more on developing (or better promotion ) of our most taleted players...tough all of them have expiriance playing senior A1 or A2 league...

well sure they can develope more playing with older players and 92. isn't very taleted with only few iteresting prospect (Katic and Barac only ones with euroleague potential), but also risking their injurys like it happend to Prostran and Babic playing 2 stright championship...and Prostran now sufring because that, missed almost full season

I gues from 92. Barac (206 PF), Katic (185 PG), Najev (C 205) should be safe to join them....and one of Kukoc or Repesa juniors Rolleyes
