Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are interested in Vangelis Mantzaris, who is a free agent

I would be extremely surprised if Mantzaris played for Olympiacos just months after he watched Barcelona final four wearing a PAO jersey.

I KNOW YOU DIDN'T ASK ME BUT I WILL TELL YOU MY OPINION ANYWAY.MANTZARIS CAN FIT IN ANY TEAM IN THE EUROLEAGUE.HE IS CHEAP,TALL FOR A GUARD (1.96),PROFESIONAL,BETTER FROM YEAR TO YEAR AND FULL OF SELFCONFIDENCE.ALSO HE HAS PLAYED A LOT LAST YEAR WITH PERISTERI SO HE IS RELATIVELY EXPERIENCED (MOST GREEK TALENTS PLAY LESS THAN 5 MINUTES PER GAME IN THEIR TEAMS.HE CAN SUBSTITUTE NICK CALATHES IF HE GOES TO THE NBA NEXT YEAR.

Hey Black Urum what's the deal on this Fasengas kid that had the alleged forged passport to play for the Hellas younger NT's?



What team does he belong to? Is he half Greek like Sofo or is he fully foreign? Fasengas doesn't exactly sound Greek, sounds Argentinian or something <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

He is foreigner and got adopted as far as I know... something like Iliades the judoka.



Don't know where he belongs to, most probably the Greek army for now... I think he is way overrated anyway.

^ Well he'd go for 3 months max anyway, so it wouldn't take him long to complete the time.



Still haven't had a chance to see him play and see what he is about yet.

Markieff Morris is being pursued by Panathinaikos to fill their spot at the power forward position.Tony Dutt, agent for Morris, said talks with Panathinaikos are “moving along” but nothing is imminent.Dutt said he would pursue an out clause so that Morris could return to the Suns if the lockout ends.

Well, another Greek-American that according to the article is very good 3-point shooter, he is 193cm tall and he played in NCAA for Princeton for 4 seasons. Every year he had better numbers from the previous one!!

If they're indeed good players, they will be cheap, since coming over to Greece will be more of an emotional issue than a financial one. Good (perhaps even great) players for small contracts, what else could Aris, or any Greek team in this era ask for?!

Black Urum I have heard the rumor that Caja Laboral wants Nick Calathes to replace Marcelinho Huertas. Is it true that there is interest in Calathes? I don't think that he'll leave PAO, they are one of the best teams in Europe and his brother has come to the club. I only see him leave if he gets a monster offer he can't refuse but I don't think this will happen

Why should Calathes leave his homeland, the euroleague champions and the chance to play with his brother. Another reason he's not going to leave is that this season he is going to play for 25+ minutes!

Yes, monkey face has finally retired. He wasn't a very technical player at all; couldn't dribble, couldn't shoot, could pass a bit, but what made him stand out was his stuborness, I remember him in one game against the US he tried to dunk in Shaq's face!!! He did fail obviously, but kudos to him for having the balls to even attempt it!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
