...and it is his birthday <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

France played great, totally non european basketball.

We will wait for them in the semis or finals <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />
Savanovic...we can't blame him now.I hope we play even better than today.

All greetings to Keselj amazing pointer 7-9 for three. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Good for Greeks <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Serbia has so stupid national tv that covers only Serbia games <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

And other sport channels are not interested for broadcast. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

What a game!

What a simple miss Savanovic made for an easy bank shot and bucket- he just flinched somewhat and his shot came up short allowing France to walk away with a valuable win!

He was alone under the basket! I felt bad for the guy. Someone said it was his birthday. He was suppose to blow out candles not blow the game. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />

What did you think of France's ball movement and interior play? I was impressed I did not know that tey had the ability to pass so crisply. They passed on the Serbs at will. Defense was also great It seems like the France team got needed stops and steals. I wonder what the turnover comparison is....

They definitely seem to have worked a lot more than the previous tournaments. There is a marked difference in France, and the driving force is of course Parker who's probably not happy with himself being unable to push France towards a medal position all these years, even though he had so much hype surrounding him and his team, the last time they got close was in 2005 when we punished them in the semis to go on to nab the gold against Germany <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

My guess is that they want to at least qualify to play for the Olympic tournament, and after the Olympics Parker and a lot of the other old boys will call it a day.

Considering, as you say, that this probably will be the last Eurobasket fot France's "brain" and top player, Parker and also considering that they don't stand a chance in the next Olympic Games tournament for something good, I don't think that they're thinking of qualification for next year but for winning a medal this year! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
Heh, never underestimate an older man's determination to make himself feel younger if only for a short while <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

You can't blame referees...

Why not , he stopped us twice in last 10 minute, evaporateed 14 points. Last year iat Serbia match ref was bad I know but throughout the tournament , you can't show another match. So I can blame refs.

I believe they were short in size , with Noah they got completed. Still, with a limited 3 pointer threat I think France will be overhelmed at the second phase. Turkey is good at floor defence and spain can overhelm Noah by Gasol brother. I think LTU is the weakest link despite the home court advantage if France defeat them they qualify. Germany seems stagnant but I expect more from Dirk this time. Spain and Serbia will qualify for sure in my opinion.Turkey ? I don't know, can defeat or can be defeated at any match. France and Germany matches are the key, Serbia shoots very well which is horrible for us. (And because of 2010 they want to destroy us)

No, you can't...

This one game gave you the silver medal in the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bag' />

I'll say I'm 'around' the same age as Parker so I have an idea about the concept! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rofl3.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rofl3' />
My opinion in the whole Turkey-refs question (not that it matters <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> ) is that one (or many) ref mistake doesn't make the other one legitimate, if there were mistakes that helped Turkey it doesn't make it ok when there are mistakes against Turkey.. We should be against ref mistakes in general no matter against who, even if that side got some (big) help from the refs in the past, as basketball fans I believe we should be for fair basketball game that is decided by players and players only and if there were games ruined by refs in favor of Turkey I don't think that should mean we need to support ref mistakes against Turkey.. the basketball court is not the place for historical justice, it's the place to play basketball <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> So really, I hate the mistakes that were made against Turkey just as much as I hate those that were made in favor of Turkey.

That is just my opinion.

I agree, thing is we played bad against poland. But I believe we played well at 2010 overall, we won 7-8 matches against teams like Greece, Russia, France, Slovenia , it is unfair to erase all of them for one match. Or since 2006 this list can be extended to Lithuania , Serbia, Spain, Brazil , Australia. Serbia match in 2010 became an artillery installation for people don't want to admire our team. Yes we won by the refs that night but we reach quarter or semifinals generally in tournaments and we never allege that we are a basketball country. But a little appreciation would be nice, am I wrong or what ?

In total , it is a dirty part of this game that home court teams are being supported by the refs. I don't know how to end this behaviour.
