The thing that Group F has more defensive teams don't make them funny. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

I hope you didn't mean that... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
Except Greece and Russia...But Greece without Diamatidis and Spanoulis isn't the same team.

Eh? He was never good at 3 pointers.
He wasn't the worse either, that percentage is unexpected for Slovenia.
Which is worst ?

FYROM , Albania or Turkey

(It is not even a tricky question I just wonder)
LOL, I don't see why have Turkey there <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />, you might want to add Bulgaria? I can't really comment on Albania, I've never seen them play at national team premiership level. I am no authority to say who has the worst team, all I'm saying is that they should be depending on people from their own country to bring about the results, getting good results with the heavy handed help of mercenary players is just plain ghey and I don't see it inciting interest in youngsters if they don't have a national hero to look up to and eventually play like him in the coming years.
Bo with 27 points, the rest of the team scored 38.. they should change their name to Former Yugoslavian Republic of McCedonia

LOL [Image: rofl3.gif]
I totally agree. If Greece can in this game they can even be the leader. Yet in fact it is not that important because whoever omes from th goup e , it will be as hard to play.

But as a turk I can say that much ; If you defeat slovenia and russi (btw they are my favorites) , and we can defeat serbia , then guess who will play for the semi finals ??
To top the group Greece needs to beat Russia and FYROM lose their remaining two games... that's a lot of ifs... you probably mean the quarter final? GRE as 1st and TUR as 4th?

As for Slovenia... Greece shot 3/3 for three and Slovenia shot 1/5 in FT in last minute, that says it all.

FYROM will be defeated (if not trounced) by Slovenia and Russia. It's the end of the line for them, McCalebb or not. Slovenia will get the two wins necessary as long as they keep their head screwed on properly and don't make the easy, tough.

We have nothing to fear from Russia except our own bad selves <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' />

Stefan, Hellas is at the early stages of building a 'NEW' team with plenty of young blood. DD is retired from national duties, and Spanoulis may or may not return. We are looking to the future now, so you keep that in mind. A new guard is on the horizon, and expect another quality team to surface in a few years.

Our Kids did quite well today. I'm impressed at the resiliance they showed. They fought back after invisibility in Q3, and that was because Slovenia went into a stubborn zone defense and two centers to pick up the rebounds. They did that well, thus fought back to their credit. I think our game plan faultered becuase of that clever move, but we also moved in with Koufos and Bourousis to counter.

Our last quarter was magic. Three point bombs were coming from all directions. The last two minutes was the clincher. Fotsis and Zisis going downtown with triples. And 'Game Over.' We have a good mix of talent, mostly young, and some with plenty of experience, but more of the prior, and I see a bright future for Hellas. Slovenia played to their potential today.

Finally 9/17 triples for Hellas tells the story. A special mention for Dragic, this dude is a superb player. One more thing. The Republic of Skopjia are looking at their second loss against Slovenia in two days as far as I'm concerened. Slovenia are 2 clicks above FYROM..

Cheers!! Forza Hellas!!

If anybody's stock has sky rocketed in this tournament it is Bo McCalebb.
No surprises today. Maybe there will be surprises tomorrow. How many teams can qualify for the Olympics? 6? Are there other paths to the Olympics?

Only the Eurobasket gold medallist qualifies for the Olympics, finalists 2-6th places will get a ticket to take part in the qualifying tournament for the Olympics together with other international competitors.

I think it's 3-6 that will play a pre-qualifier Zeus. Gold and silver surf their way to london..
Eurobasket's gold and silver medalist qualify for the Olympics.

Eurobasket's number 3 to number 6 will compete to the pre-Olympic tournament with some other countries from around the globe and the top-3 teams will qualify for the Olympics!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Although I also think that photo is ridiculous for Mccaleb's case, still couldn't help myself from asking ; How could they defeat you ?

Well McCalebb was on top form, and we, psycholigcally as a whole team were dragging our feet for unknown reasons. Nobody really played well, apart from Fotsis, our captain. There was just total lack of concentration, will, call it what you like. But we really lost from our pathetic selves that night. In the previous Eurobasket we did go against FYROM once more (without McCalebb) and we blasted them by 30 points or so.

It was the worst peformance I'd seen from our NT in many years, but then again this is a new team, so these things do happen, especially when the players are mostly inexperienced on an international level.
