Just out of interest why there's no team called 'United' or 'Wanderers'. Or do these names can only be used for football teams?
Last season there was a team called London United.

They were going to take part this season but dropped out just before the season started.
Aye,

Just don't think United/Wanderers etc is a suitable name for a B'ball team tbh, sounds a bit daft.
London have always had a poor team and poor names, for example:

Tower Hamlets
London Docklands
London Towers
London United
London Capital (I don't think this one is that bad)
Fair point there mate and I do have to agree with them names.

I heared Bertomeu wants them in the ULEB Cup next year. What do you think about their level? Are they ready for Europe?
In my humble opinion I think a fit Eagles squad have a good chance especially at home games where the atmosphere is amazing ( we had 3,000 on wednesday and the game was live on setanta)

If we are "in our day" we theoritically stand a very good chance
Quote:The English Basketball League is kinda like the second division below the BBL, but only in a quality sense as there is no promotion from it to the BBL because of the fact that the BBL is a franchise league and the EBL is not. Teams from the EBL can only gain entry into the BBL via application I believe.

ye sort of but the thing is ENGLISH is no Scotland, probably that's why Winners of EBL div 1 not transfering to BBL.. young players have more chances to develop because of EBL, there are loads of young players(17-19) playing in ebl clubs and i think it's good, to do some basketball after under18 teams
Heh, seems this never took off and the two clubs who were signed up went back to playing in the EBL. Apparently they're going to get the league going again for tip-off in November in 2008, although I wouldn't hold your breath.
