The Greek Cup Final game is scheduled for next Wednesday, March 26th

Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos, probably the best domestic Cup Final in Europe.

Olympiakos has got the momentum on their side. Their psychology is highly improved after the qualification in Euroleague Top8 and lately they play very good defense, just the way Yiannakis likes it.

Panathinaikos on the other hand has got the experience and heart of the champion. They have beaten Olympiakos easily two times this season, so far.

The game will take place in Athens, in the 'Helleniko' Arena. (Panionios home Arena)

Although the Arena capacity is 14.500, only 1000 tickets have been issued to create 'dead zones' in the Arena to avoid fans clashes... <!-- sBlink --><!-- sBlink -->
I'll go for Oly, the team has been rising their performance, unlike PAO. But it'll be a close game I think.
I think that Olympiacos might do it this time because of the recent form of both teams and also losing for the 3rd time in a row against arch rival would be hard. Yannakis brought some order to the game and that is also important. Although it often happens that Euroleague teams lose domestic games before important games in the Euroleague, probably because their minds are somewhere else, this time Olympiacos have more time. And you can't ask for a better opponent before quarter-finals.

On the other hand the final is the final and what happened in the past is not important. Panathinaikos will surely want to win this title.

Quote:Panathinaikos defeated Olympiacos at Ellinikon Olympic Hall 81-79 on Wednesday to win the Greek Cup for fourth straight time. Kostas Tsartsaris, who was named MVP of the Greek Cup final for the third straight year, had 14 points and 5 boards for the Greens and Vassilis Spanoulis added 20 points and 7 assists for the Greens, who bounced back after their shocking elimination from the Euroleague Quarterfinal Playoffs to show that they are still the team to beat in Greece. Panathinaikos, which shot 16 for 30 from downtown, also got 11 points and a key free throw in the closing seconds from Kennedy Winston. Olympiacos’s Lynn Greer bagged 28 points dished 5 assists, but missed some critical free throws down the stretch. Panagiotis Vassilopoulos added 15 points, Giannis Bouroussis recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Marc Jackson had 10 points.

Congrats to PAO <!-- s:cool: --><!-- s:cool: -->
Well I was wrong with my prediction again. As always <!-- sLaugh --><!-- sLaugh --> At least the score was close.
I will not talk about the refs. I think the game was great and PAO was the fair winner ( but I think some whistles were "bad" <!-- s:p --><!-- s:p --> ). Congrats guys.

I'm happy with my team and Greer's performance. I hope next time we will manage to stop PAO's 3point shoots... <!-- sBiggrin --><!-- sBiggrin -->
