The appointment of Pini Gershon seems to be a good move for Bulgaria.

Indeed so. He left a pretty bad impression with Olympiacos, but a guy that manages to be Euroleague champion just has to have some qualities. He made the right choice imo to take over a discrete NT and put his knowledge working.
Great game by Biedrinš (30 pts + 22 rebs + 3 blocks), I must say I'm surprised he's playing the qualification games, but it's good he is  I also didn't expect FYROM to be so strong, since the Naumoski days I kind of lost track of their NT.

Finland is the surprise so far, they can go far if they keep playing like this.

Tight game but Portugal lets the win slip in the final minutes... Even so, the Portuguese behaved well, also considering their awful preparation games, it seemed like the 2007 Eurobasket team had disappeared all of a sudden.

Kullamäe led the Estonians with 28 pts (the older the better <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' /> ).

Portugal manages to lose at home against the Estonians and beats them away <!-- sRolleyes --><!-- sRolleyes --> The last period was 24-8 for Estonia.

Important win for the Portuguese, the 2nd in a row. Things could only get better really...

Carlos Andrade keeps being the most consistent player (13 pts + 11 rebs this time), but I'm still pessimistic about João Gomes being left out.
Would you look at that, GB have made it to the finals. Hopefully that means more basketball coverage on TV. E.g. someone will broadcast the finals. Let's hope, eh.
