They both helped their national teams to achieve something important. Croatia qualified for Olympics for the first time in a long time. Meanwhile Great Britain qualified for Eurobasket 2009 for the first time in history.
I see...well, I guess they're both justified then. I still think Planinic is the least deserving player on the list though.

I don't think that Planinic, Deng, and Diamantidis deserved to make the list.
Meanwhile Gazzetta dello Sport named Pau Gasol European player of the year. Rudy Fernández came second and Hedo Türko?lu third.

Has Mr. Europa been named yet?
No, not yet. If you mean FIBA Europe player of the year as Mr. Europa <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Link?

That seems like a highly questionable pick.
What the hell is FIBA Europe waiting for to reveal the players of the year? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />
