Revenge against the Tatars? <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Crazy' />
Rytas lost against Spirou 74-78. Once again Lukauskis was having a down game. It's really funny when you can tell wether he will play well or not right after his first shot. So far this rule never had any exceptions. Lukauskis's form was on the rise last weekend and even before this game it was obvious that he will be terrible tonight. And so he was. 0/3 2PT, 1/7 3PT. I am not saying that he is responsible for a loss but I still can't believe that an experienced player as him can't be consistent at all.

Rytas wasted all their chances to pull away. With all due respect to Spirou they didn't impress me. Though Rytas were even worse than them. A team relying on 7 players is always going to get hurt. They will most likely get a revenge in Vilnius but this was an ungly away game that we are getting used to this season.

It's also funny that Rytas has 2 point guards and none of them are able to play in a high level. Chuck Eidson is taking that role and doing fine so far but that usually limits his offensive game.

I'm really intrested in few this round matches:

Azovmash Mariupol vs Crvena Zvezda

All the time it was talking that

Azovmash club is more temporary project than a real club ( someting like it was with Saratovo Avtodorozhnik in Russia). They are playing quite well. Why anyone can't stop Khalid El-Amin ?

Khimki vs Dynamo Moscow

Dynamo lost H. Price, he went to Top 16 with AJ, that's a loss and after all Dynamo having some financial problems, but it's intresting because two domestic clubs meets in European tournament, that's existing everytime when two clubs from one nation is forced to play together.

Lietuvos Rytas vs Bilbao

Rytas becoming disappointment for me and other basketball fans (not Rytas fans I believe). This game is very important. It will be intresting to watch are they capable to play in Round 2. Bilbao has some players that Lithuanian fans knows well so it's more intresting match than previous Rytas match.
Khimki is such a disappointment. They get trashed and lose like an ordinary team. Looking at their roster and checking their results is truly laughable. Scariolo has great work to do.

Congrats to Zvezda for pulling the win.
Khimki is missing their best two players, Lampe and Delfino, that is no game inside, no game outside for you. Dynamo on the other hand, although they lost some good players, still have a lot of good players and a very good coach. Their front line is frightening even for some Euroleague clubs.

Also another note about Panellinios, they play at Hellenikon Arena, which is Panionios' arena and is based in the southern suburbs of Athens, while Panellinios is based in the centre of Athens. So they are actually not playing at home but rather in a neutral venue, that should be taken into account, especially vs clubs from the same city, like Maroussi.

Interesting round, many surprises. TT Ankara is the biggest surprise for me. I don't expect them to win away, but at home I was sure they would, but it seems not. Getting trashed like that is worrying. Maybe the problem is the coach, the roster is competitive, but they just can't make it. Time to move on I suppose.

Great wins for Zadar and Mariupol, Charleroi was doing just fine until now but perhaps they screwed it with this loss at home.
Indeed... and all our predictions went right to the waste bin <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Was this the 1st defeat for Pamesa Valencia in the EuroCup?
A nice performance by Rytas. The opponents were not strong but still +41 is an impressive winning margin. Everything worked well from them. The players were hitting shots. Once again Zavackas proved to be a great shooter with 5/5 3PT <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> A good defense was the key to the win. Artland Dragons quickly were out of the game as they were unable to score and more importantly to stop Rytas.

Rytas GM confirmed that the club is negotiating with a new point guard as Rytas aims not only for the Final Eight but they are also think about the cup.

Yup, they had an 8-0 run until yesterday.
