Wow, CSKA have gone from an amazing team to a pretty damn weak one. They have nothing to offer in the paint and Siska, Holden and Langdon looked helpless vs Maccabi.
Lietuvos Rytas has almost no offensive weapons. They could get a win against weaker teams purely because of their defensive style but when it comes to individually strong teams you also have to be able to respond to their shots. One of the best offensive players for Rytas, Gecevičius is limited in offence because he can't create shots for himself. He's a type of player who scores when he gets the ball open. But the opposition defence will nto let you do that when they know how you play. Baynes still gets into foul trouble which limits his time on the court. Rytas needs someone who might not be the best defender that Kurtinaitis wants but who could be dangerous in offence.

Olympiacos is getting better even though it's hard to make any conclusions after an easy win. Had they lost against Rytas Giannakis would probably be on his way out. It's nice to see Kleiza finding his place on the team so fast. Childress also looks better after a year in Europe. Beverley plays a lot but Teodosic scored 12 pts in 12 minutes. He should get more playing time.

Zalgiris managed to give a fight to Barcelona but it was experience and class that decided the winner. Zalgiris turned the ball over 3 times in the last minute and buried all their chances to win the game. Salenga and Pocius disappeared in this game. If you add at least 10 points for them the winner could be different. The good thing is that Begic finally performed well. There's lots of pressure on him so this game could make his situation slightly better. Cukinas is not EL, not Eurocup and not even Eurochallenge level.

I didn't see CSKA game but their performances are not surprising me at all. Pashutin is not EL level coach. The squad is weaker obviously. In addition to that the star players lack motivation. It must be hard to get in such position after dominating Europe for nearly a decade. The good thing here is that finally we will see some other team in Final Four instead of CSKA.
