Luke Walton is expected to remain in the Sacramento Kings’ bench as the head coach, despite Vlade Divac being relieved of his duties as the GM of the team.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Luke Walton’s job is safe, at least for the next season. Walton’s first year in Sacramento was pretty disappointing as they finished another season without entering the playoffs.

The 14-year postseason drought is the longest streak in the NBA, as the Kings last played a playoff game back in 2006. Walton signed a four-year contract last April and still has three years left on that deal.

The Kings finished their “bubble-play” with just 3 wins in their eight seeding games. As a result, they concluded the season with a 31-41 record.
