NBA Rumors: Myles Turner may be the missing player for Warriors

Via NBA.com

Despite finishing the 2019-20 NBA season as one of the worst teams in the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors are already emerging as one of the top favorites to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy next year.

In addition to making sure their core Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will be back in their prime, rumors are circulating that the Warriors are planning to seek out a major roster update this fall.

One of the potential targets for the Warriors in the 2020 offseason is Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers have not yet shown a strong indication that they are planning to move Turner, but with the emergence of Domantas Sabonis in Indiana, most people expect him to be available in the trading block this fall.

According to Tony Pesta of Fansided’s Blue Man Hoop, Turner could be the “missing ingredient” for the core of the Warriors’ championship next season.

“Turner is a great shot blocker – he led the block championship last year and posted more than 2 games this year. He will defend the circle at an elite level, but is a below average rebounder for his position.

However, Turner can anchor the Dub’s efforts to paint. In attack, he is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA. He punched nearly 100 triples this year with 34.4% of shots and was close to 40% last season.

Turner will bring quality shots to this end of the pitch and spread the defense. The Warriors would be unstoppable with a weapon like Turner playing alongside Splash Brothers and Draymond Green.”
