The New Orleans Pelicans couldn’t keep the pre-hiatus momentum to reach the postseason. The Pelicans have won just one game in the Orlando “bubble” so far, and the future of head coach Alvin Gentry could be away from New Orleans, after the end of the seeding games.

In particular, Gentry’s time with the Pelicans won’t last much longer, according to William Guillory of The Athletic.

The worst-kept secret in the NBA is that Gentry’s time with the Pelicans won’t last much longer,” Guillory wrote, per NBC Sports.

Gentry will possibly be removed after failing to provide stability in the Pelicans’ game, especially in the defensive end. Tyronne Lue and Jason Kidd are reportedly among the candidates to replace Gentry.

With the Pelicans being an attractive job due to the great young talent they got at their disposal, coaches around the league could potentially be interested in taking up the challenge.
