The NBA plans to hold the Aug. 20 draft lottery virtually, with 14 team representatives appearing via a virtual display, according to Shams Charania.

Last month, the lottery date was moved up from Aug. 25 to Aug. 20.

The top eight spots in the lottery are locked in by the bottom eight teams with their records as of March 11, before the season was suspended.

The Washington Wizards have secured the ninth spot in the lottery by being eliminated from playoff contention in Orlando.

The remaining spots in the lottery (Nos. 10-14), will be filled by the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and the three other Western Conference teams that don’t make the playoffs.
