Steve Kerr reveals: Thibodeau has been very helpful to us

Tom Thibodeau visited the new Golden State practice complex in February. The Warriors had just swapped the young Minnesota conundrum Andrew Wiggins.

Considering that Thibodeau had been fired from the Timberwolves the previous year, presumably for not being well connected to the prospects of young Wolves like Wiggins, he would seem to be the last to offer Warriors coach Steve Kerr advice on how to train the number 1 of the 2014 Draft.

In reverse, Wiggins had previously told Kerr he loved playing for Thibodeau, interrupting a narrative that partially smeared his otherwise sterile reputation.

“We had just swapped Andrew Wiggins and it was really useful,” Kerr told The Post in a telephone interview Saturday from his home in San Diego. “I had a long conversation with Thibodeau about Andrew. He gave me good advice on how to connect with Andrew, how much he liked training him and why. We have known each other over the years. Thibodeau has been very helpful to us”.
