The two Los Angeles sides, the Lakers and Clippers, are expected by many to meet in the Western Conference Finals. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked by Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet what would happen to LA if these two teams indeed met in the WCF.

“It would be exciting. I don’t know what else to say other than that. It’s unfortunate that if it happens that it can’t be in LA with a packed house. Those games that we played against those guys this year because they obviously have a team that can win it all as well. I’ve never been in a basketball environment like that. It was just super electric in there. Even though we’re not gonna be able to experience that the competitor spirit on the court will be the same. Every bar, restaurant, living room in the entire area will carry the same type of energy,” Vogel said.

After recording their 50th win of the season by taking down the Clippers, the Lakers caught up with the Boston Celtics, who had 33 50-game season in the history of the franchise.

Both LA teams occupy first and second place in the West and remain on track for a potential matchup in the Conference Finals.
