It appears that Houston Rockets’ Eric Gordon avoided serious injury, as X-Rays on his left ankle came back negative, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Head coach Mike D’Antoni originally said he expects him to be out “a few days.”
Early estimates on Gordon’s return to the Rockets’ lineup center on one-to-two weeks, Wojnarowski notes.
More will be known after his ankle is evaluated on July 29 and the Rockets will reportedly wait and see how Gordon’s ankle responds overnight to decide if he will miss games.
Gordon is a crucial component of the Rockets’ chances to make a deep run in the playoffs.
The Rockets’ rotation isn’t deep, as they usually only play about eight or nine players per game.
Missing Gordon would put even more pressure on stars James Harden and Russell Westbrook, and players like Austin Rivers, Danuel House and Ben McLemore would be tasked with stepping up.
