Mikal Bridges scores 20 first half points to lead Suns to scrimmage victory

Phoenix Suns’ Mikal Bridges put up 20 points in the first half to lead the team to a 117-106 victory over the Toronto Raptors in their final scrimmage.

Bridges finished the scrimmage with 26 points, three rebounds and five assists on 10-12 shooting from the field and 4-5 from three-point.

“He’s still a young player. He’s playing with confidence. He does a lot of stuff that we value,” head coach Monty Williams said. “He’s turning into a guy that we rely on to make plays on both ends of the floor and he’s important to what we do.”

Bridges could be poised for a breakout and it seems as if he will fill the minutes and production vacated by Kelly Oubre Jr. who won’t play in the NBA restart.

This season, Bridges is averaging 8.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
