According to US media reports, NBA player Lou Williams is being investigated by the league for an alleged visit to a strip club after leaving the Disney World coronavirus bubble to attend a funeral.

The 33-year-old Clipper was granted permission to leave the Orlando resort – where NBA athletes live and work during the outbreak of the U.S. COVID-19 – after the death of a friend’s father, according to ESPN.

Williams was pictured in the Magic City strip club in Atlanta on Thursday evening while having a drink and wearing an NBA mask, according to US media reports.

The photo, published on the Instagram account of the American rapper Jack Harlow, was subsequently deleted.

Williams told the NBA that he attended a dinner there after the funeral, ESPN said.

On his official Twitter account, he tweeted Saturday: “Ask one of my teammates what my favorite restaurant is in Atlanta. Nobody celebrates. Relax lol.”

He also retweeted the praise of Magic City and the people who defend it.

The league is trying to determine where else Williams may have been in order to determine the duration of its quarantine.

After returning, he will observe four days of isolation – with daily COVID-19 tests – and a possible extension of the quarantine based on expert medical advice.

On Saturday, coach Doc Rivers, apparently visibly annoyed before the Washington game, said: “I can’t say much about his trip. I was not with him.”
