The Sacramento Kings have been riddled with coronavirus and injuries, but they are getting a couple players back at just the right time.

Forward Harrison Barnes cleared the NBA’s coronavirus protocol after receiving two negative tests and was on a flight to join the team in Orlando, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

Barnes tested positive in early July, shortly before the Kings left for Orlando.

It took roughly three weeks for him to register two consecutive negative tests.

“We’re happy to be getting him in here, and then he’ll have to start his two-day quarantine once he gets here and pass that protocol before he can join us on the court,” head coach Luke Walton said. “But a big step for us as far as getting him out here.”

Young star guard De’Aaron Fox also appears to have recovered from his left ankle sprain suffered in practice on July 15.

“I was able to get up and down with the guys today, and I felt great,” Fox said. “I feel like I’m ready. I need one of the scrimmages to see where I am as far as an NBA game and being able to make adjustments before the Spurs game.”

Walton spoke about Fox’s return to practice.

“De’Aaron practiced today, full practice, full go,” Walton said. “He looked good. We’ll see how he feels later on tonight and again tomorrow morning.”

Buddy Hield and Jabari Parker, who both previously tested positive for coronavirus, played in the Kings’ first scrimmage.

Hield led the Kings with 19 points, while Parker had nine points and three rebounds.

Alex Len, who also previously tested positive and arrived in Orlando after Hield and Parker, did not play in that scrimmage, as the team is reportedly managing his workload to get him back in game shape.
