Russell Westbrook reportedly joins the Houston Rockets for NBA restart

Russell Westbrook is expected to be an important part of the Houston Rockets’ plan to win the championship in Orlando.

Westbrook travelled to Orlando on Monday to join the Rockets at Disney World. Houston’s superstar will go through a two-day quarantine before practicing with the team.

On July 13, Westbrook announced through his social media accounts that he tested positive for the coronavirus, writing he was “feeling well” and quarantined.

Now, head coach Mike D’Antoni expects Westbrook to be ready and in shape, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

“I do expect that once he clears everything that he’ll be ready to go 5-on-5 and all that,” D’Antoni said. “I would think Friday might be a little early. That’ll be up to the medical staff and Russell himself and see how he feels in the days before. Hopefully, he’ll get in a couple of scrimmages and then be ready for us to play.”
