The Houston Rockets are going to surprise their opponents according to general manager Daryl Morey.
More specifically, Morey has revealed head coach Mike D’Antoni has put in a new offensive plan, without of course going into more details.
(Per USA Today):
“At the end of the day, it’s about getting to an efficient, great offense,” Houston GM Daryl Morey said prior to Friday’s team practice at the bubble. “We’re already the second-best offense, but we can make that better, I think. We can easily be first throughout the playoffs.
Coach has put in a new offensive set, which will be interesting. … I think Coach will still go into the main skillsets of our players. It’s more just a wrinkle. As usual with Mike , it’s simple stuff that’s very hard to stop.”
The Rockets had the second-best offensive rating through March averaging 113.4 points per 100 possessions prior to the season suspension.
Houston is the 6th seed of the really competitive Western Conference, having a 40-24 record and being 4 games behind the second-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
