Miami Heat’s Duncan Robinson will wear “Say Their Names” on the back of his jersey for the season restart, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. Players are allowed to wear racial injustice messages on the back of their jerseys in Orlando.

Other players have followed suit in wearing racial injustice slogans on the back of their jerseys. Some players have declined to wear slogans on the back of their jerseys. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have declined to wear names on the back of their jerseys.

According to ESPN, James said:

“I actually didn’t go with a name on the back of my jersey,” James said on a video conference call with reporters. “It was no disrespect to the list that was handed out to all the players. I commend anyone that decides to put something on the back of their jersey. It’s just something that didn’t really seriously resonate with my mission, with my goal.”

Robinson has chosen to follow Kyle Korver’s path. Korver will wear “Black Lives Matter” on the back of his jersey for Orlando. More players will follow suit in the coming weeks and it will be interesting to see what their decision will be.
