Zion Williamson’s former marketing agent has reportedly filed “newly discovered evidence” claiming the New Orleans Pelicans star accepted a huge sum in exchange for marketing rights while he was at Duke.

Williamson is looking to continue his rookie season in the NBA’s Orlando bubble, but the investigation into his college affairs continues. It was previously alleged that the star and his family were the recipients of various unlawful benefits during his time as a Blue Devil.

The ex-agent claims Zion Williamson and his family broke NCAA rules by accepting money from an agency and, on Thursday, it was revealed that new evidence surfaced.

“BREAKING: Zion Williamson’s former marketing agent files ‘newly-discovered evidence’ in North Carolina federal lawsuit. New affidavit claims Williamson and his stepfather were paid $400K in Oct. 2018 in exchange for granting exclusive marketing rights to another agent,” a tweet from attorney Daniel Wallach reads.

The tweet also includes an image of the pertinent court document.

Wallach reported last month that Zion would not have to answer questions pertaining to said case in court.

“Zion Williamson is granted a full stay of the Florida lawsuit brought by Gina Ford,” he wrote. “The 3rd DCA’s Order states that ‘the trial court’s proceedings are hereby stayed.’ This means that he will not have to answer Ford’s discovery requests – for now – as venue shifts to NC.”
