Joel Embiid addressed the media on Tuesday and had a lot on his mind. Embiid believes he is ready to take the Sixers to the next step and finally go to the Finals.

The Philadelphia 76ers addressed their depth issues by acquiring Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks from the Golden State Warriors. While they have addressed the bench, Embiid is still the best player on the team. This team will run through him.

“I don’t think my weight is an issue,” he said. “The only thing to always watch is my body fat, and I feel good. Like I said, I’ve been chilling. Just doing what I have to do.”

Embiid has been working out six days a week. This time off was a chance to get ready for a playoff run. With the loss of the rest of the season there was more time to get focused. Finally, Embiid will be more fresh than he ever was in previous playoff runs.

“During this year, there were a lot of times when I was not into the offense and I was just basically going through the same motions and all that,” he said. “But with the playoffs coming, I’ve just gotta be more assertive and just be that guy — just demand the ball and do what I do.”
