Anthony Davis reckons his Los Angeles Lakers have an even better chance of winning a championship this season following an unplanned, lengthy break from the court.

The center, who says he’s completely healthy now, has implied the Lakers will likely benefit from all of the rest they’ve been getting.

“If anything, our chances are higher,” he was quoted as saying by reporters on Thursday, per the Los Angeles Times.

The former New Orleans Pelicans star has dealt with shoulder and elbow injuries this season, mostly playing through them and earning praise from his teammates for his toughness. But, he says he’s over them now, thanks to a break that has lasted nearly four months.

“I know I’m 100% healthy,” he declared, also revealing he didn’t require any medical treatment; rest was all it took.

The seven-time NBA All-Star has been spending lots of time with his family and claims to have gotten really good at video games Call of Duty and NBA 2K. He admits having put on a few pounds from poor diet choices as well, but featured in a recent team video back in the gym alongside LeBron James.

“I was so fat,” he joked. “I was eating burgers every day.”
