Today was Deron Williams’ last day on the Brooklyn Nets payroll, as they finally finished paying the rest of his contract.
The Nets were paying Williams about $15K per day over the last five years, which equaled about $5.5 million per year.
Williams, who played his last game for the Nets on May 1, 2015, had two years left on his five-year, $98 million contract that he signed in 2012.
He reached a buyout agreement and was set to receive $27.5 million of the remaining $43 million he was owed.
The Nets used the stretch provision to spread out his salary until this year.
