Head of basketball operations David Griffin confirms that three unnamed Pelicans players tested positive for coronavirus.

Those players are following NBA protocol by self-isolating and being tested daily, according to ESPN’s Andrew Lopez.

They aren’t allowed to work out for two weeks and can return to the team after two days of negative tests.

It’s not clear if any of the three players are experiencing symptoms.

The NBA announced that 16 of the 302 players who were tested on June 23 tested positive for the virus.

The three positive tests from the Pelicans were part of those original 16 positive tests, Lopez notes.

Teams have the ability to sign a substitute player, but Griffin said he has no reason to believe that anyone will not go to Orlando.
