The Portland Trail Blazers plan to sign guard Jaylen Adams as a substitute player to replace Trevor Ariza for the NBA restart in Orlando.

Adams was the NBA G League MVP runner-up to his Wisconsin Herd teammate Frank Mason.

In 33 G League games, the 24-year-old averaged 21.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, while shooting 48.6 percent from the field.

Adams played 34 games last season for the Atlanta Hawks (12.6 minutes per game).

The Trail Blazers still have one open roster spot.
